It also helps to strap your frame down to the stand so when you pull out forks, swing arm, etc it will all be balanced.

1st please tell me this was the condition of the bike when you got it and you guys didn't let it get to that condition...lol 2nd how do people get their aluminium frames polished to a mirror finish. Great video and I've found that tearing down my 2018 YZ250 was a lot easier that tearing down my 2000 YZ125
@reeveharper84245 жыл бұрын
They bought it like that I believe. Don't get a mirror finish, it's impossible to keep it up and CAN look pretty wack. But if you must have one it's easy to accomplish with some polishing compound and a bench grinder/drill with the right polishing attachments
@ravenhawke55 жыл бұрын
@@reeveharper8424 I knew they had bought it like that. I was just giving them a hard time, and grateful that they saved an awesome bike from such a demise...lol. Thanks for the input on the frame polishing I wouldn't do it to my YZ i was just curious how people got it that way, and I can imagine doing that way would ruin the protective coating the factory puts on their aluminium frames to prevent oxidation

It’s really not that hard, I’m 14 and I tore my dad’s 06 yz 125 down. He blew it up trying to keep up with me on my 05 yz 250. Blew a hole right through the piston. I pulled the engine and tore that down to the crank as well. I did a complete rebuild on it. Did so all without a manual and without any videos. First time too. I’m in the process of doing the same with my 05 yz 250, I did the top end on it awhile ago. Just cleaning and greasing every seal on the chassis. Also going to replace my clutch plates.
