Probably the best model of a motorcycle engine I've ever seen, with a great no-fluff explanation. Smart move keeping it short and only including the ignition eletronics, and saving the clutch, transmission, timing, etc for other videos.

Thank you very much! She/You just opened my eyes to the functions of the stator. I have a 1978 Honda CB125S with a very puzzling electrical problem. Now I have seen that the different windings feed different parts. Not that I'll be able to fix my bike but at least now I know a little bit more about what's going on.

3:43 This animation has an error, the extrusion passing through the pickup coil when the piston is in the down position. actually it need to be pass through when the piston reaches to the firing position. Except that it's amazing, great work, great video ❤️❤️🤝👍😊

Really helpful video to help visualize the working parts of the engine! So what about 4 cylinder engines for example, is it just the one extrusion on the flywheel for one or more pickup coils? the extrusion acts as a crankshaft position sensor? how is each cylinder timed perfectly, at higher RPM how does the ecu with cdi change timing to detonate sooner or at precisely correct timing. Thanks!

Excitor coil rewinding may be too tiresome but other coils can be rewinded with hand.

No. Even the idle speed is generally set in a range of 1000 rpm which is high enough.

On every engine with an electric starter there is a 12V battery. This battery (same in cars btw) is used mainly for starting the engine, or to power everything else while the engine is off. Once the enginw is running, the battery is no longer needed due to the GENERATOR, which is driven by the engine and creates enough electricity to power EVERYTHING and even charge the battery.
