Guilty of not washing for a week. My hair is super dry, so washing too often is too much for me. Dry shampoo is my friend : ) Lol! Great tutorial! Ty!

haha yes I love my dry shampoo, but my hair gets greasy at day 3 no matter what I do! sometimes its good to give your hair a week rest from washing.

Most people I know wash their hair once or twice a week. That’s what’s recommended by most hair professionals. If your hair is super dry, you don’t get oil right away. If you wash it every day, you strip all of the oil off of it and it makes your hair even more brittle.

Hi Fancy Pants Hair, I did this. My hair looked great something like yours, like a mini Siouxsie and the Banshees look but I immediately lost many chunks of hair and it took a whole year to grow back. I was kinda sad and I am scared to lose hair again. I did it again recently and I still lost hair. I wanna do it again without repeating the mistake and losing tufts of hair. What am I doing wrong? I only use hairspray later when the hair is up, not even using any hair gel. Could I have sprayed too much hair spray towards the end? But it wouldn't hold up throughout the night, no? I''m not sure, please help. Thanks. I did it to my husband's hair, his hair was kinda limpy throughout the night but he didn't lose any hair. I did the same technique. My hair kinda lacks volume too so even if I don't wanna go for a big look, I would like to be able to do this hair everyday without losing hair. Thanks!

Honey, I have been doing hair longer than you have been born. I did hair in the Beehive age, with up-do's. With the backcombing you are showing the style would never have held for more than a few days, if that. I think you need to have an old hairdresser show you how to properly tease hair. Sorry for the shut-down, your's is not going to hold.
