Instant benefit upon deployment, easily synergizes with any strategy involving the Guard. Khayon hinges on actually surviving the turn after spending the hefty cost before providing anything. Likely 0 cost Guardsmen and 2-3 cost Commissar tactic combo, good bye 9 cost Khayon.

@@krel3358 I've been playing for a long time but still I got beaten to death by a Khaydon that I simply ran out of removal for. I let the player go off with it because he probably never has before. Any expensive card can do its thing in the right situation. However if you want to climb ranks then it's critical to make a deck that's consistent. Faeburn is a card that enables consistency. Khaydon doesn't do anything but 'win more', which means you had already won by that point of the game, and anything you played at that point would have done the same job.

Tempo is called initiative in Chess. And you are quite right about it. The player who has the initiative has a big advantage because the other player is one turn behind of winning. It doesnt matter if he is going to kill your King, heroe, in one turn. It is one turn too late.

Very good video. One thing i want to mention: The Master of Execution has not only to survive to proc its (very good) Strikeability, he has even to survive his own attack. That said and because of lack of many options to heal your own units with chaos (frankly only one comes into my mind), it has to survive (most of the time) with more then 2 HP, which happens not very often :) Thats the reason, why i don't like it to play. Maybe you could another video about the abilitys and their best Options to use them, for example: When is it time to play a flanking unit, even if there is no enemy unit on the field ;)

Because while I concede the point that there are many cards that are sub-optimal and will not see play in competitive play, none of them are really bad. Slow? Understatted? Only good as a body? Perhaps, but there's nothing that's going to actively cause you to lose the game, so in my opinion there are no bad cards.

I defy you to name one card in Warpforge that is so negative that you would never play it under any circumstances, because THAT is a jumping off point for when a card is objectively bad instead of just underpowered or not meta.

Though in particular Khayon example, if you are going first and match is either equal or you have advantage, then dropping him on 9th wouldn't be that bad - opponent still have to spend resource to remove high stat unit with a shield. That will fuck you up if he survives. So while he still needs some rework, some idea behind him is interesting.

I would recommend to compare similar units - like Chaos Legionaire - to the space marine 2-mana 2-2 3-health guy (don't remember how it's called). But all in all great video that will definitely help new players to realize that this game is F A S T in terms of tempo swings, and that everything has to have immidiate impact on the board or in the very next turn, not be a drawn-out value.

Chaos sarge isn't exactly garbage, because he does come with instant value Via Rally: gain dark pact. chosen is also a very powerful card yes.
