My tip is when my hair really likes a product I pay attention to the ingredients (and their order), and pick products with similar ingredients, this has helped me A LOT!

Same here. Awesome tip. I started doing that about a year ago and since then I rarely end up with product regrets anymore (unless I'm just trying something entirely new).

Really great advice. I also use a hair diary of wash day routines and the products used. This has really helped me with products that worked or not, and the reason for the failure.

TFS! If you are unsure a product is working, Finding out if you have build up/ or need to clarify your hair is key. If you already have a few products you like in each category compare the ingredients label to see if there are commonalities. Can do the same for products you hated. Keeping a hair journal can be useful. As you mentioned isolation can be very helpful. I like using products from the same brand together. not much of a mix n match person unless I’m trying to empty products.

The product junkie could never use one product at one time lol but this video was really beneficial. I know fs that my hair hates are silicones, coconut oil and glycerin but loves aloe vera, btms and avocado oil

Come through education. This is a great one stop video to save people time and money. My tip is to try new products in the best case scenario first, it's not fair to try a new product when your hair is doing something crazy or new. Once you have the base line, then try it in extreme conditions. Don't only try it on good days or bad days. You won't know the products true capability that way.

I’m a jumper. If I have six different leave-ins I will grab a different one each time I wash my hair. And I tend to do the same with other products, deep conditioners and stylers. Thank goodness I’ve only been working with two stylers lately, the Doux mousse and Eden BodyWorks curl creme. I know I shouldn’t, but that’s the (slight) product junkie in me.

This was helpful! I agree with trying one product at a time. That's also my tip. I've used leave ins under my moisturizers and stylers that have dried and made my hair gummy or gave my hair a dry film feeling but I wouldn't have known they did if I wasn't using all other products that I knew worked.

1. If you can try to buy some things with a lower number of ingredients so you can really pinpoint what your hair may be reacting to. If I notice particular ingredients across the board in ones I dislike/feel meh about, I will be cautious. For example, my hair hates shea butter or heavy butters/waxes despite it being thicker. 2. For me, how my hair reacts to what I put it through in a week (exercise, wrapping but not pineappling it, falling asleep on my satin pillow without a scarf). If the product cannot last through some of those things, I don't really want to deal with it. 3. Honestly, with stylers I can tell how my hair will react as I'm doing it. I've given many another shot and still disliked it thinking it may have been the technique or my hair was being wonky. Nope, my hair was just showing me it disliked it the very first time. Other products like deep conditioners and leave ins, I can come around to liking something. 4. I want to try taking pictures though, even though I feel so awkward taking pics of myself 😫.

I would say use products with the ingredients that your hair likes. For example my hair likes products with aloe vera, coconut oil, coconut water, shea butter, sunflower oil, etc.

Hi. I love your videos and the look of your hair. I want to start purchasing black own products so I like it when you let us know if a product is black owned. Thank you.

I have a dimpke routine, I use the same product line, & I use the same moisturizer...my hair us thriving. Dont use a bunch of different products all the time. Stay with the same line too, bc the separate items of that product line is made to work together #natural4c
