Had a guy invade me and Holloweed while we were ganking on pc. He used dark Blade Murky with 1.1 speed and he toggled no hitbox. He used to R1 qs R1 qs and I couldn't tell that he was toggling until I notice that he wasn't getting ghost hit. Ghost hits are a great way to know if someone toggled on lat. On low latency you can notice it if they have more I frames then they should. Great video as always Amir

This is actually super eye opening because I once did arena matches with this one dude in the dark souls discord in sort of a mini tournament, and he was poising through things that I was almost certain shouldn’t be possible with his armor setup, and he was curving a lot of attacks much like the guy in the video. He kept insisting that it was possible, but I was super suspicious. Maybe he wasn’t cheating, but I hadn’t really considered the subtle cheating.

@@earthwormjim420 siegbrau is equivalent to a level one estus, and as far as I know, you can get a max of three per game. It would effectively be useless in a situation like PVP. Hidden blessings may be more useful here, but those are easily identifiable from estus.

Pretty good video, love the way you go with so much details yet still making the thing crystal clear to even a casual PvP player (I'm not that good at explaining it to my friends when someone is cheating against us). I've been using CE lately, taking inspiration of your mini-boss to recreate a Smough/Ornstein bossfight with a friend, but I don't have all your knowledge about how to use the tool. I would love to have a video tutorial from you on how to use it for scripted event. I'm sure people would watch it and this could end on a lot of Mini-Boss battle made all around the world. And to top it off there were like 400+ accounts with some variation of the same exact name and the gibberish or numbers at the end - and no it wasn't a common name. So I'm guessing they are accounts meant for sale or something. It's super annoying. had i assume a hacker invade me right after pontiff fight, i expected ganks since its basically THE pvp map to fight on, but literally the first human player in my playthrough, i almost killed him, i was 99% sure my last swing would finish him, instead he hung onto 1 hp and rolled off the map, where he stood floating above the killzone. I waited for about a minute to see if it was a lag, then tried to throw a knife at him, no damage, and by accident I fell down too, winning him the fight, losing 50k souls, never turning online mode again.

Now that you mentioned it, I think I might have experienced this myself. I’ve definitely seen a vid from Fighter.PL of a guy spinning ridiculously while panic rolling but ended up dying right after. It’s so common for people to cheat in games let alone subtly and I can’t fathom why. Also, Amir, I’ve noticed that you pronounce “stamina” as “stanima” with the m and n mixed up. I found your channel earlier today, and realized that you're the guy that makes those epic hacker bosses in streams for people like Chase. Now that I've found you, I'm never leaving. Again man, your pivots are tight af! I fought a hacker boss once, but didn't know it at that time. I killed the dude normally then he came back up and started the hacker boss fight. I died cuz I didn't expect it, he was surprisingly aggressive too. Kinda makes me think he just wanted to win. Just fought someone today with infinite estus, sped up animations and took extremely reduced damage, blue sentinel didn't say anything about it. Counted 30 estus heals, split leaf combo wouldn't even get past the first r1 on him before he could roll out. Also had 170 ping if the hacks weren't enough

Ya it'd be nice for Fromsoft to actually cater to the pvp side of the game a bit more, since we are the people that play the games for the longest. Okay I have a hacker story that occurred in the crucifixion woods. Basically invader pops in, and I don't know where they are. My Summon had ran off to gods know where, and suddenly I see his health bar drop to zero. I freak out, and get to a decent spot for fights. Then I just sit and wait, until eventually I hear a small sound behind me. I roll in response, dodging a crystal soul spear. I turn on the invader, and rush them. Their obscuring ring makes it tough to track them, but I manage. Then shit hits the fan, as literally too many mobs spawn on me. There was those purple shrooms, red eye cross guys, hollows, everything in the level but the giant crabs. So I do the only thing smart, and roll. I kept it up for roughly a minute until the invader pulls a katana on me and runs me down.

Actually if talking bout "edgy miniboss wannabe" i once encountered one that was GOOOOD and felt really both pleasant, like in his overall aesthetic, not so much unbalanced and quite fun of a fight. The dude even dropped a reward (7 embers, titanite slab and some big soul consumable) after i beaten him. It took me three attempts, yes the dude invaded me three times, cosplaying as some black-fiery thingy in the archdragon peak. Dude was flying and leaving black fire trace behind him, landed in the middle of the place that leads to the dragonstone torso, did some weird shit during the fight like double fire serpents, some weird black fire bolts that looked like farron darts, even exploded a few times after doing like a long animation of buffing with the dragontooth weaponart, can't remember what weapon he was using tho, could've been the covian claws thingies cus he jumped a lot. I'm pretty sure he used also the abyss watchers sword weaponart on these claws, all followed by a trace of black fire. But, he clearly played a boss, while he did some weird pauses after certain attacks, he even did a jump-back few times that looked like a jump back of some mob, giving him more distance. And then he had bugged tears of denial that fkn resurrected him like a soul of cinder for the second phase. And yes he exploded like soul of cinder. In blackflame. So yes, that was as edgy miniboss wannabe as it gets, but still had fun, and the third time i finally beat him and the things just dropped when he died, like you would normally drop an item. Still one of my most amazing encounters ever. Oh he also invaded me again then cus King of the storm wiped the floor with my ass after i beaten him and had no estus left, but he seen me, waved from the sky and just black crystaled out. Amazing encounter indeed. Now this type of hackers i don't really mind.

the single most subtle hack is a 2-5% increase to the speed stat. it's not a lot at all, but the difference is enough to close gaps on chase downs and fuck up timings on blocks/parries/dodges. It's damn near impossible to detect if you're up against it because everything *looks* normal on your end, and you just chalk it up to a bad connection/ latency. As somebody fairly familiar with CE for making minibosses and just programming fun fireworks displays for people, I've tested a lot of different stuff with friends, and not a single one can catch 2% speed bumps, because it's not enough to make it an auto-win, just enough to fuck up muscle memory.

I truly do not understand these players. Subtle cheating is an indication that you want to be given credit for 'winning' when you did not earn it. I would never be satisfied with a win under these conditions. Great video Amir - do tools like PvP Watchdog, or Blue Sentinels detect cheating of these types?

Mostly no, however blue sentinel is working on several detections that would completely put to rest some of these subtle cheats like modified damage or weight ratio. Unfortunately without advanced AI or something you couldn’t have a computer tell a packet lossy player from a 1.1 speed, however it will detect super speed hackers(2x and more probs)

So about a month ago or so, I was close to finishing my latest playthrough of DS3. Decided I wanted to give PvP a good old fashion go, invaded a few people with varying results, fightclubs, friendliness, ganks and all. But there was this one player I encountered that was bizarre. It was a fightclub, granted, but the player I was facing was... naked. And their attacks (which looked like melee attacks, can't recall which kind of melee, sadly) had massive range, to the point where they'd hit me from the other side of the Pontiff duelling arena. I also dealt lower damage than I anticipated to deal against a naked player. I generally managed to evade their attacks by sheer guesswork, but getting hit resulted in me losing 80% of my HP if not more. I died to them, of course, because I wasn't even sure what I was dealing with that could slap me so hard from so far away. Almost won the fight, but not being able to know what they were doing certainly didn't do anything in my favor. I could only guess they weren't hacking, but actually using some kind of mod like Convergence or Ashes (?). Although I don't think any weapon could ever reach as far as the person ever did, so I'd sooner assume hacking of some form or another.

Bruh... I'm a new Ds3 player... I played Bloodborne (loved it) years ago and quarantine pushed me to try Dark Souls, one of my first encounters in Pontiff Sullivahn (or something like that) was with a guy I dind't saw coming up the tower (probably teleported). I almost killed him (because I was with 2 experienced friends who were teaching me how to pvp) and when he was almost dead he activated a hack which killed us all and iniciated a cycle of death. Everytime I'd respawn dead, I was about to give up when a friend told I could altf4 when alive and it would fix it. What makes me mad is that his cheat was made to make people who don't know how to break the cycle literally lose a character. This is scummy af. I heard fromsoftware ban everyone who use mods or spawn items because are lazy, so ytf there's still hackers?

When i was recently starting out my playthrough to finisht he game the first time about 2 - 3 weeks ago. This guy appeared out of nowhere and sent me to the start of the game with items i could not drop. Had to delete the character, get a support ticket to be unpenalized and wait roughly a week to play again fml. Downloaded blue sentinels and it's been great so far and sometimes it'll help me detect players with malicious stats to be weary.

You should use blue sentinel mod too, its detecting cheaters and exploits (letting you kick them, check thier steam profile and disconnect when you can't black crystal out) has a list of them, makes backup save file everytime you beggin a session and refuses to connect to people known for cheating.

I don't have a recording, but somebody reset my character when I beat them. I felt something was fishy with how they were fighting but that confirmed it.

@@Amir0 Yup. On the bright side, it wasn't too bad. 30s in cheat engine fixed things and I just molly whopped every boss with my GF so she could get some more sunlight medals. If anything, it made helping her easier.

Thoughts on the Blue Sentinel mod? And how much would it help with these? I've had Malcolm say that it doesn't help with Sublte cheats and I can kind of imagine that these kinds of things might fall under it.

Yeah well it isn’t really supposed to, it’s main purpose is to deal with the many cheats it can detect and allow you to identify what it was, disconnect or kick the person doing them. Subtle cheats unfortunately most of them don’t have a good way to be detected without causing a whole bunch of false positives. Altho blue sentinel may get speed hack detection soon, but only really ridiculous amounts

if i share my sentiment to watchdog/ now blue sentinel, there were so many cases it didn't detect cheats albeit obvious like f.e. infinite health/stamina, animation speedup to an extreme after havel turtel trolling the infinite stamina... stuff like that. the next point is in my experience cheaters are mostly on the host side so invaders can bc out or as well as for hosts alt+4 when needed anyway. the kick function for hosts may be useful, but i don't want to know how many ppl get kicked based on a false positive. kicking someone although he didn't cheat, based on a false positive without even trying to identifying the stuff in-game itself, is basically cheating if u ask me. vigilantism doing a 360 basically. same would go for the in-game overlay seeing the ppl in the world, although not that dramatic, it renders some ambushes from phantoms when first entering the world useless, which can positively add to of the game on both sides, well it still means watchdog/bs can be a gameplay changing mod. i'd defend it for preventing players from getting banned due to item injection and stuff, but at the end as much as i love dark souls it is fromsoft's job to provide anticheat in their games and consumer responsibility not to support devs that release and ignore a broken game especially when it features multiplayer.

I one time swapped the paired great swords moveset with the brigand twin daggers moveset for lols but was severely dissapointed that the moveset isn't visible to other players and just shows up as the regular animation being canceled.

Yes and that’s another reason to be very cautious even if you just want to do cool or funny thing with cheats, a lot of the time it doesn’t work or show properly for them and you just look silly.

@@Amir0 the swapped weapon arts seem to show properly though, if i remember correctly. So you could maybe do the aquamarine dagger or Ringed knight straight sword weapon art with a UGS.
