Great video! I would have loved for you to take it one step further and explained what you would have done to the kitchen to make it better.

Hi - I have been driving myself (and everyone around me ) crazy. I actually woke up praying for help and just started searching kitchens near a front door and you popped up. Ahhh a sign of hope and and end to the madness. First I love your videos easy to understand and I love the humor and boy do they make sense. We are thinking of flipping a kitchen to add an island and gain an open flow and counters. I loved the video on islands. My issue is I can’t even get out of my own way. I’ve learned how to design by default because I need this to make sense. Would you by any chance be willing to take a look at my design and let me know if you think what I am trying even makes sense - my dimension's are close enough for you to get my concept. Please save my sleepless nights.

Hi!!! Thanks for the quick reply. I’m actually ahead of the game here I have it all planned out - I worked with someone at Lowe’s who was generous enough to give me the time. I have the original lay out and the new one - I am struggling with if it all makes sense

We want to flip the kitchen to where the dining area is and add the island - I just can’t imagine it or if it makes sense. Looking for a professional opinion

First off, what’s your budget? because you’re going to have a large portion go to plumbers and electricians to move everything. But, that’s not a deal breaker for a better design. Draw it up and let’s see! kzbin.info/www/bejne/iHimdqGhqtR0jJI

Take both plans back to the person at Lowe’s that helped you. Ask them to point out the pros and cons of each. Another pair of eyes and opinion sometimes is just the thing to solidify what you want! If not, check back!

Hello. Thank you for this video. I’m so glad I found your channel! I’m about to embark on a kitchen renovation in our inherited 1964 ranch home. I definitely need to do more homework, and your video prompted me to do so. I believe I can achieve much of how I envision my space following your basic rules thank you again and I look forward to more videos like this in the future. PS. Any advice on when we should hire a kitchen designer?

Thanks so much for the kind words! I’m glad the videos got you thinking. I’d start talking to different designers at a few showrooms to get a feel for their products and professionalism. No commitments yet, just gather Intel. When you have a solid vision, seen your options, then commit to someone you can work with. And check back with me! I’d love to review your ideas!

Loving your content, but have to say you did Quartz wrong @6:45. As a test, I took a 500 degree skillet and put it directly on a silestone 12" X 12" quartz sample - not a scratch or mark on it. That said, went with Dekton in my own kitchen. As an aside, it's likely quartz countertops will be banned in California soon - too many cases of silicosis showing up among the fabricators/installers.

Can you please explain your issues with quartz.
@lizbiancoismydesignsherpa Жыл бұрын
Sure. It’s plastic. It stains more than they tell you and it’s not heat resistant. For me, laminate is a comparable product at half the cost.

Thank goodness for metric! 30" = 76.2. UK Is much easier. Cabinets come in widths of 20cm, 30cm, 40cm, 50cm, 60cm, 80cm and rarely but still sold 100cm.

Agreed. I grew up with metric, then moved to Canada where it was not...fast forward and we've been back to metric for decades. Metric makes more sense to me. I took pattern drafting for 2 years and it was always metric.
