Something worth noting. US bills are not made from paper, they're made from an extremely durable linen. In the early 90's, the US government collected Levi's blue jeans, chopped them down, and used the threads to help make new currency textiles. If you look closely, there are very tiny blue fibers throughout each bill. That isn't an accident.

Yep, 75% cotton, 25% linen. The same as is used for lots of high-end reume paper, since it is durable, waterproof, and fancy-feeling
