Ok, today is the day I'm switching from Maschine to the MPC after 12 years. Thanks to you and your incredibly good videos, I've fallen in love with the MPC workflow. I'm glad I came across your videos. Not only that you explain everything you do in great detail (by far one of the best). It's also obvious that you put a lot of heart and passion into the videos and your beats. The fact that you don't hide your joy/excitement over a brilliant sample flip is also great. Thank you and keep up the good work.

So it took you 12 years and this one video to realize you don’t like your workflow? I mean your sound won’t change. It’s not the sampler it’s the samplee.
@MonteSounds9 ай бұрын
@@RalphLBaer No, it didn't take me 12 years to realize that I didn't like the workflow. Quite the opposite. After 12 years of using the machine, I just want something different. And not just 1 video from Malo, but the last 40 I've seen from him in the last few days have shown me that I really like the MPC and want to switch to it.

Great video. I was working on this and you answered some of my questions. So if you are using the SP as an fx unit, to what unit are you recording the outs of the SP404? Are you sending the Audio Out of the SP404 into a computer DAW? Or what hardware are you using to record the Audio Out?
@The1AndOnlyMichaelAngelo9 ай бұрын

@samsilk9454 ай бұрын
The ne MPC 3 seems to have a tempo curve, do you know if it's possible to make the tempo curve stick to the audio instead of the other way around? This would be insane as it would also probably allow to play a drum pattern without any click reference and force the midi click/tempo on it

Hey Malo - your videos are some of the best so far as a new MPC One owner - only ever used an OG SP404 before this......one question - when you go to program edit to pitch the sample, my screen looks different. I don't have anything that says "Global" but it does say "Master" - wonder if I have an older software on mine? I also don't see the "Semi" knob anywhere to pitch 😭

I really like how you do your beats and tempo on MPC 1. I wish they had a bigger mini console with actual support for any vst and plugs.I wish so badly they cared more about being able to get these better electronic instruments and then supported a CPU even an in house with that big price which drops since it is just electronics. I love this MPC 1, but it should be inclusive. Computer CPU has to be expensive even ten thousand dollars just so using vst do not kill the computer since they are not made to do all that, but instrument makers should do this for the almost dead music industry about to rise from the dead, if they made these bigger like console, faders, and all the clicks even on the side, so you set the first levels, and for a bonus a small tube stuff. Because tubes for microphones and everything else is far better. But MPC needs to make it.

Why not time stretch both drums and sample so they remain in sync regardless of BPM?
@malobeats9 ай бұрын
Great question, the reason I don’t do that is because since I took my time to chop this sample up in quarter notes, I will most likely play it out into whatever new rhythm I choose to play. This is a great question and I’m going to make a part two of this video and going to detail explaining this part. I really appreciate you taking the time to ask.
@BlakeSuperior_Beats9 ай бұрын
Can’t each of the pads be time stretched to many individual quarter notes so that no matter how you play them in any bpm they will remain in sync? I don’t use an mpc (beatmaker 3 app in iOS) but that’s how I do it and assumed MPC would be similar.
