Very insightful video! This was exactly the information I was looking for, and explained short and sweet.

I used to watch you main channel years ago as we got ready to sell everything and move into an RV full time, 5 years later YT showed me this video. It hasn’t served me a BB video for a while but, since i searched these testers yesterday, it combined my history with BB with my search to show me your new DIY channel. I remember a lot of content on downsizing, minimalizing, and saving money. Sounds like you made this channel because the content didnt fit on BB, and its stuff you would rather do. Interesting to see how the new channel does over time. You can get a USB C load device where you can dial in load to test the cables. Larry

your video is very simple and easy to understand, i watched a lolt this kind of videos to study but most of them completely out of titles , they only show the part which connected to the usb tester, but they didnt show the other end of the cable.. from your video i can clearly see the whole plan ...

This went from simple, bend the cable at both ends to see how it charges or doesn'tto complicated; mostly as I don't understand electronic terminology On the plus side, it's good deep dive that relatively short, as some youtubers will take 40 minutes to explain the same content The hard warmers are cute AF tho!

10x for detailed measurement review. I want to add a note - to measure resistance more precisely manual for FNB48 recomended to use "constant current load (the current is adjusted to about 0.5-1A)".

Great video - have a question. I have some sensitive testing devices that are a bit fussy about cables. When I contacted the supplier they said I had to be sure to use a USB cable very close to 90ohm impedance (which is the standard). How can I test my cables to work out which is closest? I did some looking but couldn't find anything?

You need Vector Network Analyzer. Perhaps you can buy a hobby level one.

How can you test a wall charger with a USB-C connection to see its capabilities as it seems to work only over the USB-A connection? I tried a few USB-A to C cables and it would not even power up. Thanks

can i find out if my magnetic charging cable is responsible for my bloated phone battery with this? (my phone was also 5yo, so maybe that could be a reason too) so higher resistance = more heat in the battery = bloated battery?

Can the device test that a usb cable male to male ends is work properly or faulty? By the way your English is spot on. :)
@BeatTheBushDIY Жыл бұрын
USB cables are normally male on both ends. USBA to MicroUSB for example. This device tests the power lines only and not the data lines.

Toss them away? No, these aren't cheap, especially the higher end ones with PD 3.1 240w and 20 or 40 Gbps transfer speeds or the Thunderbolt 3/4 cables.

These cables are not cheap . I bought three and now going to buy a fourth in six months of use . This is 40 euros in six months. So 80 euros a year is not cheap!

Lol. This video was fun. I did it mainly because I got several request in my last video covering this device but didn’t talk about the usb cable test page.
