Picked up a 1998 STC at an estate sale. It was dusty and covered in cigarette smoke. Brought it home, cleaned it up and put a battery in. Turn the knob and find out it only had 197 miles. I almost couldn't believe the OD. Started to look close and i found all the original build stickers on the underside of the tank and fenders. Born on 4/23/98 at 4:13am. I am a motorcyclist have had many brands including vintage British. This thing is awesome. Love the torque and sound. Put larger jets in and it is a fun putt. i will have it for many years to come.

In 1993 Harley Davidson introduce the flstn known as The Nostalgia. They were white and black and had a cow black and white seat became known as the moo Glide. The next year they were green without the moo Glide seat

Srkcycles And in 2005 the FLSTN was brought back...now the Deluxe. The 93 FLSTN is also called the Cow Glide. I ride my 2006 FLSTN carbureted (last year) daily. They are now FLSTNI.
@harleyadam48136 жыл бұрын
@@wolco003 they were designated as FLSTNI until 2006. In 2007, Harley-Davidson made all of their motorcycles fuel injected and did away with the I on the end of the model designations because it was pointless.

I have a 1997 HD Softail Heritage Springer. What you did not show is getting on the highway and going 70 mph. Solid mounted motor to the frame. It will vibrate your teeth implants out at that speed. Even though it vibrates at higher speeds, I like the heck out of my Softail. If I want to go fast, I ride my Goldwing 1800, but for cruisin' on down the roadway, you can't beat an Evo motor with the gear driven cam, in a Softail platform! If I want to go fast and cruise, I ride my HD Road King CVO with the 103 cu in. That softail you have is a nice bike.

Then you don't know what it's like to ride a Shovel with a four speed.

@@seththomas9105 How about my 1976 XL1000 with a stroker kit in it... Yep, even the bezel ring flew off of it on Hwy 29, in Lakeport, CA. It flew off and stuck in Army field jacket epaulet. The head light stayed in some how. So, I have had experience with the 70s HDs....I called that Sporty, "Da Beast." Four speed paint shaker.

@@ababbit7461 You, sir are a glutton for punishment! LOL. I've got two Shovels and two Evo's and one of them is a rigid so I do feel your pain.
@ababbit74612 жыл бұрын
@john I had that with Sportsters. My 1997 Sportster vibrated like heck. My 2000 Sportster as fairly smooth. Both were frame mounted engines. My 1976 Sportster (Iron Head) vibrated so much, I could barely see at 60 mph. My 2007 Sportster was rubber mounted and of course was smooth at speeds, but the front tire almost bounced off the pavement at idle. My 1990 883 Sportster was fairly smooth until I had a Buell 1200 kit put in it, then it vibrated pretty bad. So, I guess it all depends on the motor and how much out of tolerance or within tolerance all the part are together making it either smooth, not so smooth or a Kangaroo in the making.
