@@sahilahmed1569 Hi Sahil, the general recommendation is to use it for 3 weeks, alongside another antibiotic. Specific dosing is listed on this website: siboinfo.com. There is so much involved in treating SIBO, so I recommend finding someone to help you!

I’ve always wondered what a sibo test looks like. I wonder why they allow white rice, do they allow brown rice? I tolerate brown rice better than white rice. Does the brand of bone broth matter or stuff added to it? Most bone broths have garlic, onion, celery in them even if purée, no solid pieces. But those are all high fodmap foods.
@ConfluenceNutrition2 жыл бұрын
@@James-qo7uz Hi James, they do not allow brown rice. The purpose of the prep diet is to reduce the amount of fiber in the diet so that your baseline test reading is accurate. Brown rice has a lot of fiber, even though it's low FODMAP. If you ignore the instructions, the test will not be accurate or valid and you may need to repeat it. And you're right about bone broths. I make my own, or eat just plain chicken as I demonstrated, with nothing except salt or pepper on it. It's boring, yes, and I don't do great with the prep diet, but to get an accurate test, it's important to follow the instructions. You can also include eggs, plain white toast (if you're not gluten free), olive oil, and I believe plain fish.

Tell after knowing ,how Weight loss i.e. protein deficiency can make low hcl and digestive juices
@ConfluenceNutrition3 жыл бұрын
When we don't eat as much protein, like when we're vegetarian or vegan, our body produces less HCL. HCL helps stimulate the release of our natural enzymes, bile, and gut motility. So the low HCL leads to less enzymes too. This is all in theory, so we always need to rely on our body's signals to interpret what is needed. Did I answer your question? THere seem to be typos, so I had to guess a little at what you meant, did I answer your question?

Can we take bitters in capsule form.? Is bitters receptors present only in mouth?or whole GI tract? Can we use any bitter food instead of special digestive bitters?
@ConfluenceNutrition3 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can take bitters in capsule form, if you can find such a product, and you can definitely use bitter foods, like bitter greens for example (arugula, endive, dandelion, etc.). I don't know about the location of bitter receptors. I imagine that the main mechanism is triggered by the bitter taste receptors in the mouth, but I don't actually know! Good question :) Thanks so much for watching!

Which GI organ support appetite ?
@ConfluenceNutrition3 жыл бұрын
Well, the brain and hormones (which are signalled from the brain) first and foremost! By looking at and smelling food, this gets your stomach and pancreas to release the digestive juices that increase appetite. Great question!

Is it okay to takes supplements (HCL Betain, Digestive Enzymes, Probiotics) one/two days before the test? In Germany, it is recommended to drink a glass of warm water in the morning prior to the test,to clean away possible bacterias. And also we are recommended to take 15ml of pure Lactulose without water. Wonder why it is different in the U.S.
@ConfluenceNutrition Жыл бұрын
Enzymes and betaine supplements can be used before the test, but probiotics should be avoided. I wouldn't advise drinking water before the test because the whole point of the test is to see whether there are bacteria. If you clear them out with water, then you're test result may look better than it really is. Regarding the lactulose, I'm not sure why that part is different, maybe just to make drinking the solution a little less gross?

Can we take bitters in capsule form? Does bitters form pepsin enzymes in stomach?
@ConfluenceNutrition3 жыл бұрын
YEs, you can use bitters in capsule form. Bitters do not form pepsin enzymes, they stimulate your body to release it's normal and natural digestive juices, like saliva, stomach acid, bile, and pancreatic enzymes. Thanks for your question!

Thank you so much for the very clear demo!!🙏😊 I have a question before I go for the test, I am having a severe digestive issues with whatever I put in my mouth. chronic acid reflux, heartburn, belching and constant burping but I don't have diarrhea or constipation! I also have silent gallstone! I had endoscopy and they said my stomach looks fine, I was on PPI for 2 months and tried natural suppliments but nothing worked😔 Do you think I may have SIBO?! please kindly reply🙏 Thank you.
@ConfluenceNutrition3 жыл бұрын
Hi Miga, yes, it's possible, but I there are some other avenues of investigation I would likely look at first...like can you get any traction with diet, probiotics, and basic digestive supports. Without constipation or diarrhea or bloating, it's less likely you have SIBO, but still possible. Testing can help you be sure. I'd be more interested in looking for other infections, like maybe H. pylori? Have you been tested for that? Take care and thanks for watching!

@@ConfluenceNutrition 🙏Thank you so much for the quick respose! I don't have h. pylori! I heard that the sphincter will open when gas comes up and pushing it! I don't even feel gassy. Avoiding spicy food, coffee and citrus helping with my chest pain! Even I tried low fodmap diet for 3 months, totally avoiding sugar and gluten but no improvement. Digestive enzymes doesn't give me relief. HCL&ACV gave me severe chest pain. Probiotics are useless ( not soil based) Still on very strict diet. Oh I forgot to mention that I have a hypothyroidism! Yes I am a tough case lol. ( excuse my English lol)
@ConfluenceNutrition3 жыл бұрын
@@migasujith2023 Hi Miga, your english is perfect ;), hmmm, well your case sounds very much like the people who come to work with me...one big clue here is that you didn't see improvement with the FODMAP diet, so this tells us that your issue isn't with fermentable carbs, which makes sense because you don't feel gassy, bloated, or have diarrhea/constipation. Working this process of deciding what is most likely to help and what is unnecessary is the focus of my new program, which starts June 29. If you'd like to learn more about it, you can schedule a time with me here: confluencenutritionappointments.as.me/discovery-call Since you react to ACV and citrus, I wonder if you've ever learned about histamine foods? Does weight loss or nutritional deficiency reduces gastric juices?
@ConfluenceNutrition3 жыл бұрын
Nutritional deficiency definitely can...things like zinc and B12 deficiency can affect your secretions. I'm not sure about weight loss. If it's acquired by starvation with poor nutrition intake, it could affect gastric juices. If it's done in a safe way without severe restriction, it probably wouldn't. Great question, thank you!
