This was a great video. In my case, there was no error code on the washer, but it gave super hot water for a cold wash. I took it apart and there was gunk that had built up on the sensor. Resistance readings were normal: 56kOhm at room temp, 38kOhm after heating it up in my hand. Cleaning it off and re-installing it fixed the problem. Love a repair where I didn't have to spend any money :)

The wiring pulled out of the connector on the harness side... do I have to order a hole new harness or can I wire it directly?
@PartsDr6 ай бұрын
We don't see why you wouldn't be able to wire them directly if you have enough wire length.

I have a Samsung washer WF433BTGJWR/A2. I get the dreaded te error. Before replacing anything, I tested the thermistor cleaned and replaced. Still got the error. Thinking it was the display PCB, I ordered and replaced it. Still get the te error. So, now I'm down to the wiring. How do I test the wiring?
@sylvieguerin92612 жыл бұрын
Just changed the thermistor and we have the same error code, do you have a video that shows how to test the main control board for issues?
@PartsDr2 жыл бұрын
There usually isn't a test for the main control board for this type of issue. It would have to be ruled out by the process of elimination.

Thank You for the informative video, Liked. I wonder if you carry any anode rod for my Rheem gas water heater? It is 8-year old. I have replaced the rod once before. Thanks in advance.

Hi! For me at room temperature (22C) the resistance is 57K. If I heat the thermistor, it keeps decreasing. Could this be good? Does this thermistor (ptm-k51f) have a resistor diagram somewhere above?

Is the thermistor supposed to be wet. I have an Asko that has quit heating and when I removed the thermistor, it was wet. Definitely has been leaking small amounts of water from the opening that the thermistor goes into. Thanks!
@PartsDr Жыл бұрын
We do not have experience with Asko appliances, but the Samsung sensor shown in this video is submerged in water when the washer is in use.

@@PartsDr interesting. I’ve checked just about every other part for continuity but this one. And when I pulled it out and it was wet I just knew it was the problem. Thanks for the response.

I tested my sensor with an ohm meter. The resistance showed infinite, so I assumed that the sensor had an open in it. I replaced it, but that did not fix the problem. Only then did I discover that the plug that the sensor plugs into had a broken wire. It was under the foam rubber that the wire was wrapped in where the wires were anchored to the drum. The vibrations from the drum had cause the wire to finally break. I don’t think the sensor was bad, but if it was it wasn’t the only thing that was bad. Before you replace the sensor, check the wiring under the foam rubber at that anchor point. Also an anchor point on a moving part is a terrible idea.

If my thermistor is no good will it prevent my machine from filling up and spinning?
@PartsDr2 жыл бұрын
The temperature sensor measures the water temperature inside the washer so the washer can adjust the mixture of hot and cold water to reach the desired temperature. If the thermistor is failed, you will usually receive an error code related to a bad thermistor like "tE".

My Samsung washer will not fill with straight hot water from the water heater. It seems to always mix the temp. How can I override the ATC?
@PartsDr Жыл бұрын
You will need to check the owers manual for your model washer to see if that is an option. Some models do not have that feature. If your model does not have that feature, then there is no way to override it.

We have our second thermistor in our machine it'll run three loads and then it gives us the same te error code it will not even let me test it because as soon as you turn the machine on the error code comes on what do I do now

Did you test the thermistor using a multimeter as shown in this video?
@eddylee5872 жыл бұрын
Ok. Pulled my sensor. It reads 15.89K ohms at room temp. Which is 68 degrees. This would be a bad sensor. So, I ordered a new sensor. Tested the ohm reading @ room temp. It reads 18K ohms???? I guessing I got a bad new sensor in the box? Samsung washer WF220ANWXAA01. can't find no specs on this sensor.

Which part number did you order and where did you purchase it from?

Changed thermistor, now when it turns on it makes a sound like if its trying to rinse and keeps giving same TE error. I even replaced it a 2nd time just in case
@PartsDr3 жыл бұрын
If replacing the thermistor does not fix the TE error, it could also be caused by a bad main control board or the wiring between the sensor and the board.
@deathntaxeset Жыл бұрын
So, is it the board then?

If the sensor is good, then the wiring or main control board could be bad.

Is there a way to test the end of the wiring where it connects to the board with a multimeter for any disruptions in the wiring?
@PartsDr Жыл бұрын
@@samras121 Yes, if you can locate the plug on the board you can do a continuity test on the wiring using a multimeter. The hard part is usually finding which plug has the wires that you need to test.
