How do you perform the Amplitude>Statistics function on the silent section of the recording when using Audacity? Do you know what they call that function, or where it is?

It's a little different in Audacity. You'd highlight the silence and then use Effect - Amplify. Amplify it to 0 db. Then what shows in "New Peak Amplitude" is the noise floor reading. Audacity doesn't give you as many stats as Adobe Audition but it works to find the noise floor. Let me know if you think a video would help show this better.
