Hi Uzair! Thank you for your question! That statement means Americans may speak a lot faster than they think they do. Sometimes, English teachers try to speak slowly but forget and speed back up to normal speed as they think about what they are saying.

Is subject and verb is think and object of verb is that we are talking a lot slower. But than is used to compare or for showing contrast but if it is used to show comparison then with which it is being compared or what is the contrast here . This sentence could have been . We think that we are talking a lot slower but in reality we speak fast. Kindly clear my doubt please

Hi, WaiGuo Friends! Hope you both are doing well and having a great week. I just can't seem to recall whether I have already commented on the fact that I'm so glad that I've found your YT channel to the extent that I've already hit Subscribe so that I won't miss out on any great videos you guys post here. As I did overseas collections on past-due bills for 18 years, I had to learn the most commonly used vocabulary in the field, and I really liked your tip, specifically about learning the related vocabulary to a certain subject. I look forward to watching more videos from you. Till then, I hope you enjoy the rest of the day and have a good remainder of your week!
