Thank you Joe, once more, for your very helpful videos 👍 First of all, the _6:1 tutorial_ allowed me to "discover" that I also have that "magic ratchet" on my Tiger 🤗 (I told you, I am an absolute novice! 😅) Second : I have a big question The system on my Tiger looks like the 8:1 you show, but actually... it is not... - the top block is a _three way_ only (cumbersome...🤔) - the top block has also a becket (which the previous owner used to tie the fixed end of the mainsheet) - the bottom block is _three way_ (fine...) - ... but it has no becket 🙁 - and the extra block on the bottom block fairlead is missing (stolen? broken? traded for a microphone by my predecessor? who knows...) As is today, it is a 6:1 system, which is a too little purchase for an F18, I guess (especially if you have epicondylitis) My assumption is that I could easily transform it into a proper 8:1 system, if I attach two extra blocks, one on the bottom block fairlead, one on the top block becket. But then I don't now where to tie the fixed end of the mainsheet... Can't be the becket (used for the extra block) So, supposed that I add those two extra blocks, where do I tie the fixed end of the mainsheet? (That is my question)
@JoyriderTV4 жыл бұрын
Yes, if you add those extra two blocks. The end of the main sheet can finish in the fairlead under the added block on the bottom. I'll see if we have those parts and make a video.

@@JoyriderTV That would be great ! Hope you'll find a similar one. Unfortunately, KZbin does not allow attaching images to comments, otherwise I would've put that of my system, already...

Hey Joe, Love the videos and channel. Was wondering if there is a video on a 6:1 system for a hobie 16. Thanks in advance.

Looks like the marbled Marlow double braid poly. I use it one my boat, great stuff. Kinda pricey but I like the way it looks and feels in the hand.

Another great vid, thx - do you have another one for a 5-disc harken top block (i.e. a 10:1 system?)
@JoyriderTV3 жыл бұрын
not at this time. I'll see if i can put one together.

You don’t terminate with a short bowline knot? What would be a downside of having a bowline? What about having a shackle with a splice at the end of the line? That would require of course to thread it the opposite way but that would look very neat, no?
@JoyriderTV4 жыл бұрын
I'm using the thumb knot with a hitch as that means you can pull the blocks closer together. A loop spliced into the end would be very neat as most beckets have a removable pin which could be pinned through.

Hey Joe, my Beckett and small extra pulley are reversed (Beckett over the cleat, extra small block over the middle block). How would I do that? Thank!
@JoyriderTV3 жыл бұрын
you should be able to remove the pin on the becket that currently holds your extra block. You would then need to take off the cleat and becket in order to mount the block on the other one. If you feel that it runs well and pulls evenl;y there's no need to change it.
