Thank you for posting this video. My grandma gave me her sewing machine and it's sat unused for years, but now I have an inkling to use it and very little idea how to start ❤

Could you post something about all the knobs and things on a sewing machine? I have inherited a Sears kenmore 158 17580 and I’m just new to learning all of it! I would love some more information and help!

What if the thread is going around the bobbing. Wil not stay in position. Have any suggestions
@TheWoodburningWarrior Жыл бұрын
It could mean that the bobbin is the wrong bobbin for the machine, or you have to slide the plate so the bobbin won't come out, or the thread is not in the bobbin correctly. There could be numerous things.

Do you know how to thread a model 158 . 16900 ?? The posts for the thread are on the side of the machine instead of the top…
@TheWoodburningWarrior4 ай бұрын
@@susanleerhoff1264 I glanced at Google for that model number and it looks like it's basically the same idea. I'll try to get one of my other kenmore's out and see if I can make a video on that one. I have another Kenmore 185 tucked around somewhere

I've been looking at this machine.I'm wondering how many layers can you stitch through? I've read that some older machines are more workhorses than the newer models so curious. I want to use it for bag making to sew through some leather and some canvas. Curious if it can handle? Is this considered an industrial machine or domestic?
@TheWoodburningWarrior2 ай бұрын
@@calmingseasco This is a domestic machine. It is an older machine and can handle more than the normal modern ones. I have sewn denim or Jean material at least three or four layers, but I'm not sure about anything thicker than that. I've made tons of bags with these machines. But not real leather. More of the pleather or fake leather type.

ok how do u move the needle over couse it's it's hitting the needle is hitting it I try to fix it and I can not
@TheWoodburningWarrior11 ай бұрын
Do you mean when you turn the hand wheel towards you, the needle hits the bobbin area or the metal area inside of the machine? If that is the case, then the timing is off and needs to be repaired by a sewing machine repairman. Fixing the "timing" is hard to fix.
@MaureenPicar3 ай бұрын
What no of needle pls.
@TheWoodburningWarrior3 ай бұрын
@@MaureenPicar The number of needle always depends on what you are going to sew. For example, if sewing cotton, you would use 11/80.
