Step by step how to video on how to thread the Brother 1034D serger from scratch. Read more at wp.me/p2WfGc-42w
For the needle threading tool shown in the video, find it here - bit.ly/needle-threader
I know several of you also got the Brother 1034D serger for Christmas, or maybe another model. No doubt you've all made more headway with it than I have, and are already threading experts. Just in case there is anyone still not quite sure or confident, here is my step by step video on how to thread the Brother 1034D serger.
Threading order:
1. Your upper looper - the green route and the third spool along.
2. Your lower looper - the blue route and the far right spool.
3. Your right needle - the red route and the second spool along.
4. Your left needle - the yellow route and the far left spool.
If you still aren't feeling confident in threading the machine from scratch, you can always use the 'cheating' way to change your colors, but remember if your thread should break, you'll usually have to rethread, and it has to be done in the correct order.
How to change the colors on your serger without completely rethreading it - wp.me/p2WfGc-42t

Oh Debbie, I love you! I have waited 30 years to buy a serger and I was terrified of threading it so I used the pre-threaded spools until they ran out and then I found your video and you made it so easy. I am up and running. Thank you so much.

This is the BEST video I've watched!!! This is the first video that really explained how to property thread the lower loop! I kept doing it the incorrect way and I knew that I was doing it wrong, but none of the other tutorials explained correct vs incorrect way to thread it! Thank you so much!!!!

I, too, have struggled to get my Brother 1034D serger to thread right. I viewed two other You Tube videos and the Brother DVD and still couldn't figure out what was wrong. Omgggg BEST VIDEO EVER. I’ve literally spent 3 hours trying to get my lower looper to stay threaded/hooked behind step 10. Holding the needle straight up definitely helped keep the thread behind the hook and allowed my chain to form. I am so grateful I was ready to cry thinking I broke my serger.

This is a wonderful tutorial. Thank you for showing how to follow each instruction on the machine. The only thing I had trouble with was a note in the instruction book, that said "if the lowerlooper thread breaks during sewing, cut and remove thread from both of the needles. Before re-threading the lower looper, make sure make sure lower looper rethreading is done exactly as diagrammed. THE MACHINE WILL NOT OPERATE PROPERLY IF THE THREADING IS NOT DONE IN THE PROPER SEQUENCE" emphasis mine). Once I saw this the rest was so very simple following your directions. So clear. Thank you thank you.
