Oh I envy your indoor cucumbers. I sowed indoor cukes but didn’t germinate. So we went to garden centre. I bought two planted them but they were healthy but slow to climb. (Turns out they’re courgettes 🤦♀️🤪). So annoying 🤩. I’ve got outside cukes. Thankfully my granddaughter loves the spikey ones (her terminology ♥️) mistakes are made. However looking forward to my outdoor cucumbers doing well 🤩

Looks like you guys are right on top of things over there. Such a busy time of the year harvesting and trying to get beds ready for the fall crop. And the heat and lack of rain over here is making extra difficult this year. Good news on my winter squash. It didn't all die off and I have a few nice size squash coming in so maybe I got doscouraged too quickly when I saw some leaves wilting. And I have tomatoes turning now so I should get rewarded for all the hard work. I feel so bad for my neighbor who had a deer jump her four foot fence and eat all the green tomatoes off her plants. My fence is high enough they should stay out (I hope). They are desperate with this dry spell.

Hi Frank, it's easy to forget that other people have different challenges to us. But it does sound as though you are getting there! If I could send you some rain I would. Great news regarding the squash, we too have squash, I hope to film them next so you can get an idea of how we are growing ours. Such a shame about your neighbour, sounds like you will soon be enjoying your lovely toms!

I envy you & Mrs w for having a polytunnel Not practical on my plot. We use mesh to cover stuff & sheltered areas There’s too many fires on our allotment (burns holes in plastic which turns into rips & disaster during high winds). I have sheltered spots throughout my plot It’s always about managing one’s space 🤩. Love to see your progress. Thanks for sharing your tips are invaluable 🤩

Hi, yep it was myself asking about the shallots, thank-you. I’m loving my tunnel but def having a rethink on planting plans for the next season. The weather is horrific this year, so wet everything’s taking its time especially the summer crops. Could you remind me of your Pak Choi variety…. Thanks 🎉

I'm glad you're enjoying your tunnel! The weather can be challenging, but it sounds like you're handling it well. The Pak choi variety is youshu

This week I’m planning to harvest all my B-road beans more strawberries some spuds, and rhubarb The soft fruits are coming and they won’t belong, My beets need to swell and my courgettes need sunshine and warmth. But I’m hopeful my shallots will be ready soon too It’s a good week coming and I shall pot on my red kale and harvest the beast, and begin to re fill my hot composter So much to do but such a great time to be in my allotment Thanks for all your advice as a.ways Pete

It's had to think of what to plant as we're moving house sometime this year. But got some tomatoes,peas,beans, sweet corn,kale,beetroot,two pumpkins,one cucumber,strawberries and salad. I like putting my salad plants in a coloured pattern. Good job on you tomatoes and cucumber .

Picked my 2nd pepper today. Still no ripe tomatoes though 😞I actually grew pak choi to harvest this year- more often than not the slugs eat them or they bolt. I grew komatsuna to harvest too- another crop the slugs adore. Even when the komatsuna started to bolt it was still tender and delicious. Bonus! Irregular watering of tomatoes also causes blossom end rot. I've not seen any blackfly in my garden or o the allotment. I did have some lupin aphid infestation though. I cut off the spent flower heds and ran my hands over the remaining stems and the situation was remedied- no more lupin aphid 🙂Happy gardening to you both 🙂

Thank you for your kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. We don't do anything special other than save our own seed each year, raise the plants and put them into the plots, perhaps it has been too cold and wet for yours, I hope they catch up soon!

I guess you're having to manually pollinate your tomatoes in the tunnel.
@nodignorfolkgardener45753 ай бұрын
No we haven't needed to do this!

@lifestapestry29683 ай бұрын
Never tried in the greenhouse, first time planting them in large pots and we've had 14 courgettes already
@nodignorfolkgardener45753 ай бұрын
It sounds like your courgettes might be suffering from blossom end rot, which can be caused by various factors including inconsistent watering or calcium deficiency. Try to maintain a consistent watering schedule and this should help Albert!

That's amazing! Congrats on your successful courgette harvest!
