Very informative. I tried cast netting while sitting with a 4-ft net the other day and it was bad. Your video shows an effective technique that I can't wait to try out. Thanks.

I know the struggle but I hope this technique works well for you!

@@MakeTimeForFishing I tried it today. My throws weren't quite as nice as yours but I did catch a few mullet. I just need more practice.

I just bought a 6' cast net and wasn't sure if I could use if off the kayak. Thank you for sharing.
@MakeTimeForFishing Жыл бұрын
6' will be hard sitting, BUT if you have a stable enough kayak to stand you'll be fine. I throw a 6' standing in my new kayak often.

Great tips, thank you. I am going to try this on my kayak on Wednesday with my 4 foot throw net. Out on the open ocean in Santa Cruz California for anchovies and in San Francisco Bay for herring.

A fellow kayaker here on the west coast. I just bought a 3' net for catching anchovies. Thanks for the "how to" video. This will give me confidence to try.

Nice Video! Is 4' the best size to throw from a kayak? Is 5' too big?
@MakeTimeForFishing2 жыл бұрын
Thanks man! So 4' was the largest size I was able to consistently get good throws while sitting. I since learned to stand and throw from the kayak and the largest I like to use is 6'

Hella dig the videos brotha. just picked up a kayak killed it the other day at breech. Going to go off the breakers soon for spanish mackerel, heard of quite a few by in the harbor and south end of sullavins. that might make for a pretty dope upcoming video if your into that.
@MakeTimeForFishing4 жыл бұрын
Thanks man, that sounds like a great time! I'm always looking for some new spots to try out. Out of curiosity, what type of kayak did you pick up?

Wow that's a bargain, good find. That must be a beast. I've been taking mine out a lot since I got it and it's been serving me well. Let me know if you have any luck on the Spanish mackerel, I'd love to hear about it!

Fantastic. That's not near as precarious as I had imagined. Now time to invest in a kayak.

Awesome, I'm glad this could be useful. Let me know if there are any other tips, tricks or things you'd just like explained better in any future videos!

First step: Have small net. Lol
@MakeTimeForFishing3 жыл бұрын
Yes that definitely makes it easier. I've used these same steps to throw up to a 6 foot net so it can definitely be done with a larger net. Thanks for watching!
