1:33-1:58 is GOLDEN knowledge! That will help me practice the correct timing and technique to avoid being Captain Obvious during a sparring match and session. Thank you!

Your video on toe rotation made it apparently clear how to do the round kick. Excellent very well explained.

Great video but when you pivot your leg to throw kicks are you supposed to be on your toes
@JohnMorehouse7 жыл бұрын
Although it's ok to rise up onto the toes when throwing a head kick to get height, you do not need to do this when throwing to the body or leg. I exaggerate the lifting of my planted foot to demonstrate that you want to pivot on the ball of your foot. You do not want to be flat footed as you pivot as there will be a lot more resistance and you won't be as quick.

John Morehouse when punching do you allway have to pivot your foot because i see some fighters dont pivot there feet they just rotate there hips and shoulders
@JohnMorehouse7 жыл бұрын
Silvafox your power comes from the bottom up like a chain reaction. You should almost always pivot a foot with a punch. That will help the hips and shoulders transfer more power. Now, in our sport, there are always exceptions and the better you get, the more you can adapt to your very own style. But fundamentally, you should always pivot.

How about throwing a few kicks into the bag with force instead of spending 4 mins on how to do it.

Because that is not the intent here...great fighters are patient enough to teach as well as to learn precision. Mastering a technique requires practiced repetition & repetition = muscle memory.
