I'm 16 and I've been trying to break the 50ft barrier recently with rotational shot put and I'm less than a couple inches away. I'm not the biggest guy at 5'8 185 but I used to be a long and triple jumper and my background helps me quite a bit. You think you could drop a video all on plyometric drills for throwing?

I have one question, should you throw faster? In an analysis of the 1996 men's Discus at the Olympics, they looked at the speed of the men turning, the man with the fastest turn was Anthony Washington who came fourth, and the slowest turn by some measure, of all twelve finalists, was Lars Riedel, who won with 69.40m. I watch Ryan Crouser throwing, he turns slowly and deliberately, and hits every position just right, he has thrown further than any shot-putter in history, are you sure this is good advice? BTW I love your channel and am respectfully asking a serious question Dane.

It's up to every athlete, how much speed want in his rotation. I think that a shorter thrower need more speed than the tall one. Riedel was 2 m height and Tony Washington 1.85. It's a big difference between them. Personally I am 1.85 height and I prefer the faster rotation than the slow one

If you look at Ryan cruiser he is also 6’8”. If you look at a thrower like Tom Walsh he is 6’0” and is speeding through the circle

Crouser 6'7 320, Kovacs 6'0 295 (wiki stats) My guess that 7 inches plays a huge roll.
