Crow hop?? No way. Looks stupid. I've played outfield for 30 years and never threw like that.

So, in those 30 years you've missed all of the collegiate and pro athletes that utilize the crow hop? Not only does it not look stupid, it's about effectiveness. See Ichiro Suzuki for details. Just because you've never done something doesn't mean that it's not a good technique. This is a very common skill that most everyone in the baseball/softball community knows about.

Mad Mike627 This technique is more for baseball players. Why? Because baseball fields are much larger. Softball players don’t typically use it because most can throw the ball to their destination.
