Hello Kristian, thanks for taking the time to prepare this great video and for showing us how you make your hook lengths. Camera work and clear audio makes it nice and easy to follow along. I have now purchased all the bits you're using and will be making my own hook lengths from now on...

Great video, I’m just about to start tying my own after getting snapped up one too many times! Question for you please, when you’ve done your whips and you thread the line back through the eye, what’s to stop the whips coming undone?

I have been experimenting with home-made rigs since watching your video almost 2 weeks ago. I used exactly the same line, hooks, bands and other equipment as you. I'm using a float rod with a 6lb main line for carp averaging 5-8lb and the rigs keep snapping sometimes whilst playing the fish but mostly when a fish initially bolts with the bait. Maybe, these strength rigs are better for pole fishing where the elastic will absorb this kind of energy? I do like the hair-rig concept and experimenting with a wider selection of baits but think I would be better using stronger rig line. However, I don't know what maximum diameter line will thread through the eye of the Guru size 16 hooks you used?

I know this was ages ago, but... I was having the same problem, I've realised that I had overtightened my knots. Now, I'm conscious of this. It hasn't happened since. I'm sure you're all sorted by now anyway.

@@ryandoherty6174 Hi again, yes, all good now but often think of this video when sitting down to tie a load of new rigs ... it's one of those demo's that is worth it's weight in gold ... thanks once again ...

Have you got a video on the figure of 8 knot?you made it look easy
@patrickwalker25096 ай бұрын
If he had turned the loop tyer just once the knot would be a true figure of eight! He turned it twice enlarging the knot unnecessarily

Nice vid. However I noticed my whippings come loose once finished and the stretch in the mono has relaxed

Kristian, what hook would you use for f1s? And would you position your band different?
@kristianjonesangling3 жыл бұрын
Hi Alan, for f1s I use a Guru Super LWG and I tend to have the band tight to the bend of the hook when fishing for f1s
