I learned to tie all my knots in the dark - really helpful when you have to do it under pressure. But these methods are so much simpler than the rabbit hole and method 3 is an absolute game changer (I know one skipper who only has bowlines on the dock).

Tied the knot for so long he can tie it in the dark ! I've got other things I need to be learning but I got triggered by this video, so every morning and knight I will be tying these knots with my eyes closed ! By the way, I've got the first one down pat already. Good video

Excellent! If you are in the water and somebody throws you a line to tie around your waist, then I guess the first method is best?

But you show a "wrong" bowline because the free end of the line is inside the loop. This is not good because movements of the loop at a capstan can open the knot. In the right way zhe free end shoud be outside the loop.
