I have used this rig before and I like it a lot with in-shore fishing. I use the same knots you tied and I have lost no fish. It's my favorite rig also. Nice video!!! (Salt Strong.- Texas).

I have used the same rig setup with the same knots and I have not lost a fish. I like this set-up due to the fact I can change out weights quickly if I need to. This is my favorite rig for in-shore fishing also. Nice video!!! (Salt Strong - Texas)

That's one of my favorite rigs yet .

Came across your videos, super helpful! I did a reverse dropper loop, what other rigs work for halibut. I can see this one working pretty good

Glad it helped! Might try a Carolina rig.

Hey Tony, for those using bell sinkers with wires, making a large loop and then tying another one towards the end will make it easier to swap out weights. The single loop with light line can sometimes cinch tight against the wire and make it hard to undo. In tying the knot you slide the loop into the eye and then pull the sinker through the inner loop.

Wondering if this would work using 40ish pound leader off a head boat for bottom fishing. Mostly wondering about knot strength.

I have always used a 3-way swivel , so I can use lighter line on my weight and break it off if it gets snagged and not have to re-tie everything.

Yes. Many anglers use a lighter line or tie a weaker knot to connect to the weight for that very reason.

Thanks for the awesome content! I just subbed. Im heading down to Johns Pass in a week or two and your videos have given me a lot more confidence to nail some keepers this year. Are there any affordable charters in the area that you would recommend?

What live bait hook do you like to use with this rig?

Gamakatsu #1 octupus. For sheepshead.

Sheepshead are light bitters how do you detect the bite with 2 to 3 inches of line free floating?

Great question! Make sure to ask this over in the Community (www.saltstrong.com/) where the coaches spend their time.

Have you ever tired a drop shot rig? I saw another youtube tie one up for sheepshead and he also had less shake off. Just wondering if there was any benefit to the dropper over a reguluar drop shot?

Does it matter if we use pyramid sinker?
@isaiahportela45472 жыл бұрын
Coule probably use any weight but Sheepshead are usually around structure and Pyramid sinkers snag pretty easily

I worry about lead weights contaminating our oceans and lead poisoning of the sea life. So many people seem to lose so many weights in the process of fishing. Any ideas on how to reduce this impact?
@chrisgriffin33744 жыл бұрын
70% of the ENTIRE EARTH is water and mostly ocean...if you want to be worried; worry about plastic. Now that's a measurable problem
@jb56764 жыл бұрын
@@chrisgriffin3374 Yup. That's a serious catastrophe for sure. I pick up discarded plastic bags, cups, cooler lids, and what have you daily when I'm out on the ocean. But lead poisoning is something to be concerned about, and it's as simple as we fishermen switching to steel weights. I have. It's pretty simple.
