Thank you! I watched every other video on KZbin that attempted to teach me how to tie the belt. Each time mine ended up wrong. Finally, this method taught me to do it the proper way, with the knot facing the right direction.

I finally found the way I used to tie it. I always used that second method, since that's the only one my master taught us. I haven't practiced taekwondo in about 7 years but I'm a black belt and I definitely need to know how to tie the belt again since I want to get back into it again. Side note do you guys think that they will just let me get a refresher course or do you think I have to go through at the same pace again?
@Ash.Music.Covers4 жыл бұрын
i havent practiced in years either ( i stopped at yellow belt) and im planning on doing it again and if i were you i would start again so that you are fully caught up

+Armand Human Do not attempt to learn from KZbin. It's incredibly dangerous for a number of reasons. I have students who work shifts, they attend as and when they can. Sometimes I'll see them several times in one week, then not at all for a couple of weeks, thats ok! They are doing something, this is always better than nothing. Find yourself a class and get started. Good Luck.

You're not ever supposed to wash your belt. I can't see the writing on his belt so I don't know what dan he has. But, I can tell you that when I was still in TKD school decades ago, many would be so faded before second dan that you would almost think there was a grey belt rank included in the belt sequence. We would sweat so much sometimes that the parts of the belt that touched our dobaks would be soaked, both layers. There wasn't a such thing as a grey belt in our school or any others that I know of. But, we would have class 2-3 nights a week and after green/black stripe, the workouts and sparring would be intense and last for several hours, sometimes. Instructors had it worse because we'd do two classes a night most of the time except on Saturdays when we had plenty of junior instructors around and could chill out. With respect and judging by the condition of his belt, I'd guess that if this gentleman's school was anything like most of the ones I'd attended or instructed at, he's right on the cusp on his second dan and has been teaching for between a year to two years, at least. Keep up the good work, young man!

That's more of a thing that's varied from teacher to teacher; if your teacher was less formal he/she probably wouldn't care if it touched the ground and would just not like it. But if your teacher was more traditional then NEVER do that.

Hi ! I didn't mean to be rude, dude...I am actually a black belt on and ancient okinawa karate style from master Matsumura. My point was that to tie a belt is something so simple and natural for anyone who start any martial art that it does not require at all a video to clarify it...and that it lloks more like those low IQ dudes who make videos for every simgle thing, like "how to tie shoes" or "how to breath" for instance. Sorry if I offended anyone :-/ Big hug !!
@je11ybean1236 жыл бұрын
This video was actually a really good reminder for me because I was out of taekwondo for a year from an injury and I needed a small pick-me-up on tying my belt after being away for so long. However, I understand where you're coming from.
