Thanks mate, glad you like this one. Definitely one of my favorite subtle knots.

That is NOT how I would recommend tying a double four-in-hand knot. In the final step, I would pass the wide end of the tie through just 1 layer, NOT 2. You want your first layer to form the knot so that the wide layer only passes through the second wraparound layer. That way, when you tighten the knot by pulling down on the wide end of the tie, you do not have to risk or worry about the knot coming undone.

Love your feedback; however, when you do it this way you miss out on the key feature of the Prince Albert knot, which is the subtle cross over and layering effect on the finished knot. Give this way a try and let me know how you find it.

@@tiedupinsydney5510 Your point is extremely well-taken. I did not notice the subtle layering effect of the finished knot. However, I'm not a fan of that layered effect. What I like about my variant of the double four-in-hand knot is that there isn't a layering effect AND it produces a noticeably more symmetrical version of the four-in-hand (which is too slanted / askew for my tastes or the office place).

@@omegacon4 The Knot you're thinking of is the Victoria Knot! through just one loop, this is the Prince Albert knot through both of the loops.
