Love your videos! Thanks for great tutorials and cool shibori patterns. I work with an organic vat so I don't get such dark colours easily and they don't penetrate that deep into the layers... So doing a large scale piece of fabric was a challenge. I have upcycled a number of rubber-cornered sheets (just a "cloud" or "spiral" pattern, and they turned out okay. Also did a very cool project with a few vintage duvet covers (an extra challenge because they have very thick layers). Did them with a very fresh and strong indigo vat and was happy with the result! One was accordion fold with cloth pegs (perhaps my favourite pattern!), another was accordion folded into square with a circle-shaped resist (from pringles package LOL), which turns out almost like a kilt plaid), and the most beautiful blanket was a tedious project with accordion folded into a triangle, which was also very pretty. The diagonal lines worked well with a central diamond embroidery it has (all in white).

thanks so much! Those sound like some very pretty patterns- I need to try the pringles package :) I love to upcycle old linens with dyeing.

Thank u ,well explained on a large fabric, that is rare demo., Usually people demonstrate on small fabrics. My doubt and question is, does the color seep well into the folds, or do we leave it in the dye for maybe 1/2 hour.

thanks! If you leave the fabric in for longer you will get more dye coverage. Just make sure your binds are very tight. What are you planning to dye?

can you do this in multiple colors?

Yes, but I would probably use traditional tie dyes- not vat indigo. I have a whole playlist of tie dye videos if you are looking for inspiration. kzbin.info/aero/PLinLFMViM_WUlxPsinf4BlCl9iAV1h6m4
