To be honest,I don't really have much interest in fly fishing ! but I find these videos fascinating and very therapeutic to watch.

Ah fly fishing isn't for everyone but I know what you mean. I always find it fascinating watching the fly slowly be made

Sea Trout again.....and I think I will take your advice,in trying a larger fly to search the water,this year......before scaling down,if I'm getting lots of follows,but no takes......good tip mate. 🎣

Ya its always great just having that bit of a bigger fly to search also you'd never know, might get that bigger fish too
@davidmcilveen50133 жыл бұрын
@@IrishAnglingAdventures the "funny" thing is, I also use plugs and metals which are of course much bigger than the flies l use.....and they catch plenty of fish!

Looks good for pollack, bass, maybe seatrout? I've been looking to buy some of the materials online but haven't been able to find them on any of the Irish sites. Any suggestions where I should look? I'm new to sea fishing flies, having tied trout flies for years. Your videos are a great help, very clear and easy to follow. Thank you and keep them coming please.

Its hard enough to find stuff at the moment. I think everyone being at home doing the same thing is running stock down but id have a look at Southside angling or Irish Fly Supplies. Great to hear you like them. dont worry plenty more to come.

Thanks very much Eoin. We are hoping to do these when we can get to the water. Unfortunately for both myself and Ian are both land locked with the current restrictions so as soon as they are lifted we will be back out. Thanks again for watching.

@@IrishAnglingAdventures would you know any good rock spots down in east cork around the garryvoe ballycotton area?
@IrishAnglingAdventures3 жыл бұрын
@@smigles9173 For bass Pilmore is a good area, not rocky but its easy fishing the estuary. over low water around garryvoe can be good fishing the reefs that pop up around the beaches there. You won't have great luck when its really sunny though

@@IrishAnglingAdventures ya heard pilmore beach next to the estuary was great for bass Youghal great too but I honestly don’t know what was going on this year I was really really poor

love to try that at brandon creek for those pollack that lurk around there
@IrishAnglingAdventures3 жыл бұрын
Have yet to try there. Do you fish the pier or over the hill
@dougiewharton47283 жыл бұрын
@@IrishAnglingAdventures usd to fish pier when they used to store all the salmon carcases and fish waste ready to take out and dump into sea used to use it as ground bait for coalies and pollack but they stopped storing it there so fish stopped coming into by pier so was forced to go over the hill or half way over and down into creek great fishing free lining a side of mackrel pollack upto 7...8 pound on light gear great fun

I've a question.. do you think that such a detail as an eyes are really matters for the fish? I'm asking because I've heard that the predators don't care much about it. What is your experience?
@IrishAnglingAdventures3 жыл бұрын
Personally I think eyes have there place. If a fish is switched on it wouldn’t matter but, with a shy fish where you can have them following flys but not taking the eyes may make the difference But everyone has a different opinion. You can get dumbbell eyes that have eyes panted on and I would tend to use them but have loads of large plain ones to use up.

@@IrishAnglingAdventures makes sense.. the followers might be more careful and if something is looking suspicious for them they might not attack.. I like your theory 😊 thanks for sharing ur experience!
