How to tie Lindsay's Damsel

Hook - Hanak H280 BL #8
Thread - Semperfli Nano Silk 12/0 or 50d White
Tail - Comp Candy Olivesque
Flash - Semperfli Colorado Mix
Rib - Semperfli Mirage Tinsel 0.8mm Iris Blue
Body - Troutstalkers Custom Dubbing
Hackle 1 - Troutline Yellow Partridge
Hackle 2 - Troutline Olive Partridge
Head - Semperfli 12/0 Flu Orange
Everyone that fly fishes small or even large stillwaters will have a version of the blue flash damsel in their boxes. Why would you not an extremely effective pattern that will nearly always get you out of jail when its all going wrong!
This is a version that I have been toying with for some time and I can't wait to get out and give it a blast. Do you have a favourite version? Let me know in the comments section.

I wholeheartedly agree with the comparison to Ronnie’s damsel. Both patterns have their own merits. Your use of the Semperfli flash and the dual dyed partridge brings more subtle life and movement to the fly.

Nice fly again sir damsel favourite fly on still waters dug me out a hole on Saturday when looking like a blank for first time in a long time I have most success on a size 12 with damsel I do good luck for up coming season

Nice one Lindsay! Curious why you would use the split-thread method instead of a regular dubbing-loop when using such a fine (12/0) thread on a large, heavy dressed fly. I usually use a dubbing-loop (I find it to be faster, stronger and more convenient to use) and reserve the split-thread method for fine fuzzy bodies or collars on smaller flies. ATB!
