Thanks for the tip mate, definitely will try teaser flies more this year. This looks ideal. Btw have you ever tried a small soft plastic lure, instead of a fly?

tryin on a teaser dropper can work wonders sometimes mate and it gives you a chance of the holy grail double hook up of seatrout, early on somethin pink seems to attract them, ive not used soft plastics mate but ive been informed they work esp the worm/curly tails and i know the berkley gulp worms go well on the bombarda floats, ive seen a few videos also where the hooks removed from the metal lure and replaced a 40/50cm bit of fluro added with the fly/soft plastic added so its behind the lure, seems to work too, experimentin can pay off with seatrout mate its just being brave enough to sacrifice your fishing time to try these things, sorry for the length of that reply mate lol 🤣

@@whitetroutchannel mate appreciate it. Didn't think about the fluoro and small lure behind but is makes sense. That's actually a technique to catch mullet on "lure". I ve heard great reviews about Libra lures so will get few and test it when I'm back. :) fishing time is no issue, I do it instead of my daily walks, health benefits :)

I’m totally new to sea trout fishing. Do you know what the law is about catching them in Strangford? I bought a game licence thinking I would be permitted to keep a few to eat, but another angler told me I’m not. He also told me that he was approached by a bailiff and despite having a licence and having not taken any sea trout, the bailiff searched his car to confirm… sounds like a load of drama.

game licence is you sorted mate on that front, its been catch and release for 10 years now anywhere inside dearas remit for seatrout and salmon, barbed trebles are also banned but single barb hooks are ok, thats it as far as i know on law inside the lough mate, id honestly advise against keeping any as the numbers are at critical levels and the fish are on the red list and if a baliff where to catch you penalties where revised and set to an unlimited fine to be determind by a judge, ive fished nearly 40 years and met baliffs once, they inspected my licence and where sound but that was 20 years ago and since then DEARA have appointed a lough baliff, the only time ive heard of extremes like that is if theyve had a call from gen member of the public whose seen something (or is making unfounded claims) hope this helped a bit mate, the deara angling section on rules and regs has pretty much all the info on it too if you have a dig threw it too
