Hi Paul, lovely dressing of a mayfly, as a fly dresser with over 50 years experience can I suggest you tie in your French Partridge hackle by the tip, you’re less likely to have the hackle slip when you go to tie it in. Keep up the great videos, I enjoy tying Irish flies, subscription added. Cheers

I usually do tie hackles in with the tip but when it comes to this style of fly i crush the stalk to reduce bulk because its the longer fibres i want in the fly. But thanks pal. Much appreciated and tight lines👍

You make it look so easy Paul. This is a classic west of Ireland fly. I have a few similar in my box from years ago - bought from a tackle shop based in Donegal. Possibly Rogans? Wonder whether they are still going.
