Another awesome video. If I may make one small comment: an awesome MB guru as yourself can judge the tightness of the belt just by touching it, for the rest of us the belt tensioner has a arrow that tell us when the tightness is reached. Some goes for the darn 19mil , your knowledge and experience tell you when the screw is tight enough, for the rest of us 75 NM is what MB requires. Again you ROCK!!!

Thank you for the tutorial. I was foolish and didn’t loosen the pulley and just started to tighten the tension rod. The rod snapped and now I have a bigger issue on my hands. Any idea of how to replace that rod?

You need to remove the belt, fan clutch, power steering pulley, fan clutch pulley, water pump pulley and then you can take out the tensioner assembly. You need to take out the whole tensioner assembly to replace the rod

Awesome vid. My 19mm bolt just won't budge. I dont have a long handle ratchet and I've tried spraying the bolt with wd40 very precisely. Any tips?

Put a jack handle or pipe on the ratchet for more leverage
