Hi guys--I’m really missing your “SIt and Knit for a bit”. I’m experiencing a real craving for more of Arne and Carlos. Just the 10 minutes or so on Sunday leave me wanting more, and more. Will you be doing more in the future? I sure hope so. Thanks for all you share.

When I first started with colorwork, everyone kept saying "Keep your floats loose!" so I overcompensated and it always looked sloppy. Eventually, I started to tighten up my tension and just try to make the stitches even, and I've improved a lot. Never as good as Arne, but I have ambitions! 😄

I love seeing you guys 'all dressed up' in your beautiful Setesdal sweaters. They are so intriguing with the embroidered trim. It's amazing to see such quality work being done by hand these days. Because of all your tutorials, I too knit with 2 colors the way you both do. None of my friends or family knit, so you are the only people I've ever learned techniques from, especially with stranded color work. Thank you!

When I discovered the "Norwegian way" to knit colorwork, it totally changed my life! I'm a "thrower" and so when I had to do two colors I always held my left finger up in the air. But once you guys taught me to hold it down, things got so much easier! It inspired me to knit a colorwork vest kit that I'd been saving for years. My stitches were so much more even and balanced between the two colors. And no finger pain from waving that finger in the air! Thanks for sharing these tips -- they may seem small but can make such a difference.

I'm an English thrower and just let both strands dangle and pick them up. No dominance or tension issues and I knit fast this way.Tried the picking method but my tension was just wonky and it wasn't much fun.I just have to dangle the project by the yarn balls often and let it untwist!🇨🇦♥️😁

Your mini Nordic sweaters were a great opportunity for me to practice colour work. It is interesting to see the back of the knitting because I twist my strands together as I knit like with intarsia. When I first did colour work, the instructions said that a maximum of 5 stitches could be knit between colour changes and the back looked like your knitting. I need to change my colour work technique. Thank you for a great tutorial.

Clever technique. I do colourwork two-handed, and to avoid colour dominance I keep to the mantra “light in right,” so the lighter of the two colours is in my right (throwing) hand. If the colours are very close in value I just make a decision as to which way to hold them, and then try to be consistent with that. I may well try the Annemor way of tightening up a single stitch though, would never have thought of doing it that way on my own! Thanks!

I'm very new to colorwork and I pick both. At first my floats were so loose at the back, then I overcompensated and they ended up so tight it actually scrunched up the fabric and made it wavy. My knitting tension is very tight, so I ended up having to stretch the fabric a bit every time I make a stitch so the floats are the right size. I tried keeping both on the finger, but that was annoying, so I have both yarns wrapped around my other fingers at all times, but I use my index finger to get the right color by putting it in between the two strands. Still have to stretch the fabric to loosen the floats. The next project I make I'll try throwing one color, see if that makes things easier, never tried that.
