I hit on this the other day and it was the answer. The stretch tells you if you have it right or not. Drilled rockets once I got it down. I was also hitting everything on the heal now doing this correct all dead center strikes. Your video confirmed for me how important it is. 👍❤️

This Sounds very much like the stack and tilt guys who are very good by the way - And understanding how the spine works ( multi functional) is a huge key of understanding how the shoulders will work- most golfers ( not all ) won’t work on drills for even 10 minutes a week - some good points well done

Adam....After struggling for 15 years making consistent contact on my shots from the fairway and rough, you have finally opened up the "genie bottle" for my game...I watched this video and, worked on the exercises you recommend in order to develop a good side bend...I've just got done playing the second round this week after using your training exercises and concentrating on the side bend method you teach here and, I can say, without question, these have been the most consistent rounds of golf I have experienced since I have become somewhat proficient at the game...I can't thank you enough for these somewhat simple concepts and exercises...Tony Shans

Thanks Adam. Your swing is a fine example of how the shoulders should tilt during the back swing and down swing. I really like your idea of thinking about getting the left ear closer to the ground, to get better shoulder tilt rather than trying to do something with the shoulders. I assume that the right ear does the same thing during the downswing. I guess that this feel would be similar to the old swing thought...ear/head on a pillow.

Yes Sir, Right ! Side Bending was the answer ! Left side bending at the beginning of Backswing was really important and the key. 왼쪽옆구리를 굽힌다/접는다 - 왼쪽어깨가 ball을 향하게 하면 더 쉽게 된다.

Nice video. Can you expand on the shoulder tilt plane with 9 iron versus driver - does it get shallower or steeper, and if so, is there some guidance to how much. Videos online tend towards a certain club, when in reality there are subtle changes as you move through the clubs. Would be good to see the 9 to driver range as you then have both ends of the scale. Thank you!

S.G.A., is this video essentially the backswing in a nutshell? I've been trying to figure out whether to just rotate the body like this lesson intimates, or if i should push the left hand back (a la Gary Woodland) - these are two completely different approaches. Any insight is much appreciated!
@Scratchgolfacademy4 жыл бұрын
Michael, As far as what someone 'thinks' of, or how they think of it is not so important. What is necessary is that they move/swing well. I'd suggest looking at your swing on film, then you'll have a sense of what's needed. I hope this helps. Best, Adam

@Scratchgolfacademy4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Tony, hope you make good progress. Best, Adam
@davee39514 жыл бұрын
I didn't have that stretch either until I modified the finish of my lower body turn. I use the right side oblique muscle (trailside just above the hip) to start an inward turn and then finish the turn with a move of the pelvis toward the inside of the right knee. You can think of turning the bottom of your zipper as representing what you want to turn into your trail leg. It has been a magic move for me. I don't have to think about turning the shoulders or chest because they just go along for the ride. This move eliminates sway and ensures an on plane hip and shoulder turn.

I wish I could tilt and turn like the pros and even scratch golfers for that matter. I’m only 28 and the camera shows me standing up out of posture every damn time. What really sucks is that I feel like I’m turning. What I feel isn’t real.

Could be that you’re rolling the club flat which would generally flatten the turn. Try it in front of a mirror and see if you can work it out. At adambgolf.com you can request info on ‘summer touring golf schools’ I do if interested
