How to time offset clone's animation in Cinema 4D

This video tutorial will show you how to offset a clone animation trough others over time. This trick use the shader effector and present a nice technique to get crazy motion effect with a very simple setup

amazing! Maxon should really attach this to "time" effector as that makes most sense. This might make sense procedurally, but not in a common sense way. TY!

Hi, thanks for this but this only seems to work for a short animation that loops many times within the total length of the project. I have a wind turbine farm which I need to rotate with some randomness (for each turbine) and I have a full rotation loop from 1st frame until last frame of my project but the shader, even with a noise, moves all the rotations fwds or back at the same time. Any solution for this?

Can you apply a custom animated shape to the cloned mesh? Or it's just limited to simple deformers like twist etc... ?

any animation would work. I have 3 sub-folders and nested complex animations. Put them all in a null, put it in a cloner and apply the shader and it works like a charm. (I know it's been 2 years since your comment, but hoping someone else can benefit from this)

This is cheating really. It works because of the simplicity of the shader effector. What can you do if you have a short animation that you want to clone 100 times making the animation times offset by the length of the short animation?
