Loved this video!! Terrific tips and tricks for using and combining. I have to say - the best VISUAL is the split screen comparison as well as the diagonal pan at the end. As one who uses for artistic pieces more than countertops - those views really made me think differently about the products and HOW I could utilize them. Thank you Rhonda and Kenny!! Would LOVE sample board examples of each product line - just like the diagonal views for each of the colorant categories on the SCC page - would be SO helpful!!

Terry Jeffrey cells are patterns that are made when two different materials overlap each other. This is a desirable effect many work towards. Looks almost like little circles of color.

I am new to resin and recently purchased my supplies from Stone Coat Countertop, I was informed that they are no longer carrying the base tint. The agent didn’t know the reason for this, but suggested I purchase undercoat paint instead. Can I pour this product directly into the resin as you do with the base tint. I was quite confused by the conversation with the agent at SCC, he just kept saying, “I don’t know, “ to all my questions. Thanks in advance for your response.

Any recommendations on the ratios associated to the SCC epoxy and the Mica Powders? I understand it somewhat a personal choice... but any guidelines on how much a epoxy each SCC Mica Powder packet would make?
@RK3Designs5 жыл бұрын
Hey Steve, I personally use 1/2 bag (.25 oz.) of mica powder to 8 oz. of 91% Isopropyl alcohol in my spray bottles. As far as mixing them into the epoxy as a tint. That is more or less dependent on what look you're going for and how opaque you are wanting it. A bag of mica will easily do a 2 gallon kit of epoxy for most finishes. Hope this helped just a little!
@luo69634 жыл бұрын
I was wondering how to make it opaque as the stone coat website doesn't have base. Now I know it exists and will just have to track it down. I've also never seen the mica powders or the flakes on their site. Thanks for widening my knowledge before I start my project.

Chris E Oils sorry just seeing this. I wouldn’t tint large amounts of epoxy with acrylics because they can cause the material to get stingy and clump. I use acrylics to tint small amounts and add as veins or highlights. 😊.
