One thing I always appreciate about your videos is how much you show "in real time". I always wonder when topping up beds what to do with the plants you want to save. I love that you show the whole process. You guys are just awesome.

Great camera work, CG! I loved the overhead drone shots of Kim walking and showing the whole garden. Kim, I have a lot of nasturtiums too and am trying to include them in salads. I’m so thankful you told me they’re edible. I’m not crazy about the taste but added in with other greens and tossing with a balsamic vinaigrette makes them pretty tasty. Good job, guys. See you tomorrow!

Dont forget some non-organics to help with aeration and compaction reduction. Sand, grantite fines, crushed rock, oyster shells, etc.; will help as well. Build yourself a composting worm tower and you can compost inside of each bed and it ensures an active worm population in the beds. Thanks for sharing. Cheers

Hello Susun - glad you enjoyed the video! I hear ya on the nasturtiums, it's always hard to pull them out. Unfortunately, they wouldn't have survived much longer with the summer heat, and don't transplant very well, esp at this large stage. The good thing is, they grow back year after year, and I never have a shortage in the cool weather months. Hope your raised beds are doing well! Thanks for stopping by!

Do you mind sharing how many bags of potting soil, compost, and worm castings you used for the 4 x 8 raised bed? I’m trying to get a good estimate for my L-shaped garden, which is like a 4 x 12 and a 4 x 8 squished together. My soil has sunk down quite a bit, so I think it will be similar to yours and I can do the math if I know how many you used in that space.

Hi Cherise, first, thank you for subscribing and we surely hope our videos are helpful and inspiring to you. As far as your question...I do not remember how many bags I used, quite honestly. Good news, Google soil calculator and should find a tool out there, that allows you to enter your raised bed dimensions, etc. and it will tell you how much you need, etc. I hope this helps! And look forward to hearing more about your garden...sounds lovely!!! ( Love raised beds!) Kim

HI! I do this with used container soil as well. Love the worm casting idea! I hadn't thought of putting it all over. Did you raise up the pepper plant or leave it where it was with the canes buried by the new soil?

I was wondering if the height of the new soil against the stems of the remaining plants would cause problems too, wouldn't they rot?

Hi Debbie - works great with container soil as well - great job! I just left the peppers as is- shouldn't be a problem. When the weather warms up a bit, they'll start leafing out again. Thanks for watching!
