Hello, thanks for your advice. I have doubts that the wax remover is mixed with hot or cold water all the time and another question when removing wax is required to remove the excess wax with the scraper
@AmreSupply3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. Floor strippers are designed to be used with room temperature water. Using hot water means more of the active compound evaporates and is lost.

Thank you! Please advice: Is it safe to use this method on dirty epoxy covered floors? There are marks that can't be removed with regular microfiber flat mopping. and using ph neutral/
@AmreSupply6 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching. Epoxy floors can buffed or burnished, so it might be worth first trying spray buffing rather than a top scrub. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hIi9fGitmZtjibM It's worth noting that epoxy floors are chemically different than most floor finishes, so always check for compatibility with any cleaner that you're using. If you're spray buffing a neautral cleaner can be used.

@@AmreSupply thank you! My goal is not to make it shiny but to make it cleaner, brighter...to get rid of dirt that can't be removed with microfiber pad mopping...

@@mikemg2960 Buffing or burnishing will help make it cleaner and brighter, how shiny or glossy will partially be determined by what it was sealed with. There are floor finishes and compounds designed to be high gloss and there are those with matte (low gloss).

....whats the best residential machine for cleaning VCT flooring this way? Slumlord likes to install this stuff knowing its difficult to keep clean to toss you out any time they want.
@AmreSupply3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. It depends on the total surface area that you need to clean. For the average person, they'll just clean it by hand if its a small area. However there are mini floor scrubbers available that aren't as big or expensive as these full sized machines. The mini ones are not as common so you might have to do some digging if you're wanting to get one.

Is there a pad i can use on epoxy floors without damaging it
@AmreSupply4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. Some floor finish uses epoxy that can be maintained the same as other floors. Use the lightest pad if you are concerned about damaging the floor. Also you can test the pad on a non- important part of the floor that won't be seen.

I work for a hospital and I am finding waxed floors that are old and only washed and waxed And they have many layers of wax and it took a lot of work to remove it. Could you give me some advice for those floors
@AmreSupply3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. We made a video outlining the floor stripping procedure so there might be some considerations there. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gaDHm5qfp95_jsk For a floor with many layers of wax, then you'll want a floor stripper with more aggressive chemistry. Floor stripping will still be a labour intensive process though.

Can someone please explain to me how these are safe, standing in water with an electric appliance?
@AmreSupply2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. Electricity will find that path of least resistance, and it is commonly understood water conducts electricity which makes it an easier path if exposed to a live wire. In the case of a floor machine, a functioning machine uses a cord that is grounded, and the ground wire connects to any metal inside the machine, this gives electricity a safe path back to ground in the case of a short circuit. The machine also has an internal fuse and the body of the floor machine is plastic which is a poor conductor. As well the handles are insulated, the operator is wearing gloves and rubber soles in someones shoes makes a shock unlikely. During operation the only contact point on the ground is the floor pad which is a poor conductor. We go into more details on the basics of circuits in this video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iZ-1iXdjZdSLkNE

@AmreSupply4 жыл бұрын
Hi Mickey, thank your for watching. It really depends on your facility, traffic and the desired level of shine that is needed. It is less time intensive than stripping and refinishing so it might help maintain the floor between full refinishing. We cover some of those principles in this video. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hmereJ-kiK5qoNE

Should you scape the edges when top scrubbing
@AmreSupply5 жыл бұрын
Yes if there is a build up of dirt embedded in the floor finish around the edges then you can use the scraper to remove it.

I thought that the black pad was for stripping?
@AmreSupply Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. Yes the black pad is normally used for stripping. When top scrubbing you'll want enough friction to remove the layers but the less aggressive chemistry will not remove as much of the floor finish. A black pad can be used for a top scrub but if you are finding it is too aggressive then you can use a brown or green pad.

Wax today is much better! Don't waste your money on sealer. Not needed.
@AmreSupply6 жыл бұрын
Hi Mark, even though many floor finishes today will contain some sealant properties, floor sealer is still very useful. Floor sealers penetrate deeper into porous floors, have a higher chemical resistance and form a semi-permanent layer. Floor finish is designed to slowly wear away with normal use. During proper floor maintenance, only the finish is stripped away and reapplied, leaving the floor sealer untouched. Floor sealer is also less expensive than floor finish. Since you'll need multiple coats to provide adequate protection, 3 coats of sealer + 5 coats of finish will be less expensive than 8 coats of finish.
