As much as I wish I had sent my dog to Brandon for training before bringing him home kzbin.infoUgkx1_veP7CApJK_GWy_TczaMciuG64PqJeU I am so grateful for this down-to-earth, practical guide. Great video! This reminds me of a trick I learned from " Forward Fast Dog Training by Kelly Ferris "... If you want to get a dog to stop jumping up on people you quick turn your back on the dog when they jump and leave through the door. When dog finally stops jumping you give him a treat. Lot's of other tricks there.

I have already asked this on a previous video but I am going to ask again Can you do a video where you vlog your day with inertia, all your training sessions and time lapses of her sitting in her crate also her going into the garden and daily walks. I would love to see hours of raw footage of inertia that I could skip though and learn from.

I taught my australian shepherd Murphy a trick called “report” I tell her to stay then I walk away and stand there (facing away from her) with my legs spread apart a bit and say “report!” then she runs and sits underneath me! It would be so cool if you taught this to inertia too!
@emmamemma41624 жыл бұрын
I do a similar thing with my dog; she waits while I walk in front of her, then I spread my legs (also facing away) and say "between". She runs in between my legs (standing position) and usually we finish it off with a bow.

@lacybeavers38094 жыл бұрын
You should have a segment on teaching her or Indy to use the sound boards. I’m not sure what they are actually called but it’s so neat. I would love to teach mine but I’m not really sure how to approach that. Both my pups are crazy crazy smart and training them to do anything is so so easy but I cannot get them use to pushing buttons that actually mean what they want.
@psandylay16284 жыл бұрын
Ive never done this before but you could try starting with easy association. First teach your dog to press the button and in association with that let them out or give them a treat (based on what the button says). Slowly increase the number and complexity of the buttons and i think you could be able to do it
@lacybeavers38094 жыл бұрын
They already have pushing the buttons down. They just don’t get the this button means this thing. I think I may need to find one that has my voice instead of a standard voice because is somebody other than me says anything that is remotely exciting to them they don’t do anything but if I say it they go absolutely nuts.
@psandylay16284 жыл бұрын
@@lacybeavers3809 i feel like you should spend more time working on what the button means. For ex the first few days only have one that says "i wanna go out" or something like that and after put one that is a little different like "im hungry" and walk your way up from there. I dont think that the dogs actually listen to the words, in my opinion they are just like "if i click that button i go out, if i click the other one i get food"

I use "go investigate" to let my pup know he can go sniff around or look. He's always so curious to see whats inside a box or even inside the tub. So I have this cue bc it makes it fun, like we're out exploring the world. And he loves it. It allows him to do what he wants to do, which is investigate, and I know he's doing it under my supervision. Rather than him going looking for things inside boxes or things like that on his own.

Zak can you please make a video on why you think balanced training is bad/why you have Never told Interia No. We use balanced training with our two dogs and we will use it with our puppy that we are getting in a week. Our corrections are vocal we also use body pressure and pop the leash. Rewards are food, toys(if the particular dog likes them.) and prais. Balanced training is quicker and teaches a dog boundaries a lot faster, the dog also learns that misbehaving leads to consequences. I know a lot of people are against it, but the results speak for themselves. By the time our cocker spaniel, miniature poodle mix was a year old he was off lead in all safe settings had good leash manners. Without balanced training our dog would take advantage of us(we followed zaks advice in the beginning it was a disaster). He had no boundaries, no manners, as soon as we started using vocal corrections he changed into a completely different dog for the better.

lol That was fun. Ridiculous tricks are fun. Useless, but. . .they enjoy learning things, and I think the time spent with them is always good. It's great to see Inertia picking up on things so quickly. I also see things I need to work on with my girl. She's STILL having trouble giving up things in her mouth. Leave it is 'ok', but not great if she actually GETS it. (I did screw this up when she was little and we created a bit of a monster there. It's been a VERY long road back.) Food is an absolute forget it. If she gets it, its gone. I might try a 'fun' thing like this just to work on things with her. (Though not with food to start. :P)

With a really tiny dog you can have them put their front paws on your left foot and their back paws on your right foot. The other way round is fine, too. Once they are good at standing on your feet, start moving your toes and slightly tilting your feet. Then start shuffling forward until you are (slowly and carefully) walking, with your dog on your feet.

@Bruce_S7634 жыл бұрын
If you have been having success teaching him other commands/tricks, then it may only be a matter of timing. If he’ll hold something for 1/2 a second, then reward for a 1 second hold. Slowly try to increase the time. Keep sessions short and try to end on successes. Aussies are brilliant. Believe in him and yourself and be patient. It is possible he is uncomfortable having some textures in his mouth. Maybe there are a few toys he can hold to generalize the command? Please let us know your progress, and what works for you!
