Patrick, now that you are fit and you don't look like Jonah Hill in Moneyball, are you afraid that you will lose your analytical skills? Thank you for this great series of podcasts.

I had it backwards. I thought VO2 and anaerobic was late season and threshold was early season. Didn't realize it was implemented that early. Also nice to get confirmation that long threshold blocks are very fatiguing. Lot of good information here. This was one of the best vids on training I've seen. This masterclass series is really good Patrick.

Good stuff. Re discussion towards the end: pretty sure I've heard Seiler say real time ventilation is coming

Patrick, hey I love the Masterclasses but was wondering if there is a Master Class on using all the features of the Join Cycling App?

A deeper dive on the differences between pros and normal people would be good. Both „can‘t ride uphill in Z1“ but for me it‘s not because I can‘t pedal with less power but because I would fall over or at least pedal at 30rpm max. and I feel nothing is valid anymore at very low cadence.

I was wondering when you talked about the structure comparisons between your current position and previous position, how does this structure operate? For example you said that everyone seems to collaborate or know what each other or each department is doing more so than your previous position, so how is it being achieved? Is purely more face meetings /more catch ups over the video conferencing ? Do you use some sort of workflow scheduling software that wasn't used in your previous position, I'm just curious as to how you are all more connected to each other, even the riders?

The problem with the 3 zone model for amateur cyclist is almost none of us are getting lab testing lactate threshold tests done, so we can't set our zones without a heavy grain of salt. We can estimate where our fatmax, LT 1, LT 2 is, but without lab testing youre quite possibly off by double digit watts in either direction. And without side of the road ear pricks, you're going to be inaccurate because climate and rest influences the thresholds, whereas pros with team support can accurately keep these variables under control.

It doesn’t matter, as long as you ride your bike and listen what your body says to you, you are absolutely fine and win anyway.
