Since I started pitching my arm slot has become almost horizontal. But during low effort catch play and long toss I tend to revert to my old arm slot to be able to throw further. I was waiting for a video like this.

I’ve been doing the same thing. I have a question, do you think this affects the way your throwing during a bullpen/game after throwing long toss over head? The more I’ve adapted to throwing horizontal, the more I was scared of throwing long toss in order to throw farther

Great video, thanks. I am a low 3/4 slot supinator and I have never been able to throw an effective changeup nor splitter. They simply look like my 2 seam but worse. How can I kill velocity and spin rate, if I struggle to pronate and my fingers are too narrow for a splitter to "slip" out of my hand?
@treadathletics11 ай бұрын
Can be tough from that angle. You can mess with seam shifted wake on the change-up. You may not even need a pitch that moves in that direction. Leaning into cutters and sweepers may be the easiest way to optimize your arsenal. You should check out this pen: kzbin.info/www/bejne/f2jKm5pmmZ1lh6s

I have a pitcher like this, may be a little higher than you, but small hands, no splitter and conventional/circle change did not work. What did work, and has become one of his best pitches, is a hybrid split/change that split the gap between the two which allowed to get a great amount of arm side. No forced pronation, he just throws it with same arm speed as his fastball. May be worth a shot.

How do you feel about Baseball in Japan and how true submarine pitchers are more valued. In addition to that I see some of those foreign guys toping around 80-82mph true submarine and playing pro baseball so IDK if I should try to progress from an extremely low slot

Would you guys a make straight forward video about training in the off season? Like how many pens/how far to long toss and more specific workouts. More than just like “oh these workouts are important” but a good schedule. Thankyou!

Here's a free download throwing program you can check out! Otherwise, it'd be most efficient for you to just train with us remotely. Below are links to both: treadathletics.com/4-week-throwing/ kzbin.info/www/bejne/mJWVdnSkbtl9eq8

On the pitch arsenal side of things what would you recommend me doing with my fastball when I get negative vert with a 4 seam grip?
@treadathletics11 ай бұрын
It depends on how low your slot is and if the spin is efficient.
@masonwargel616911 ай бұрын
@@treadathletics Im just below parallel and spin efficiency is around 90-95
@treadathletics11 ай бұрын
The grip likely won't matter at that point. With that high of efficiency, 4-seam and 2-seam grips are pretty interchangeable.

Would sidearm mean less velo seems like most of the back isn’t involved as much as over top ?
@treadathletics11 ай бұрын
So long as you're in plane with your torso, there isn't a ton being left on the table velo-wise. Once you break that plane and drop down to submarine (think Tyler Rogers), sure, there is less velo to be had

I throw side arm/low 3/4 my back leg comes off the rubber early and rotates into my body internally and causes my lead leg block to bow out towards 1st base do you know what’s going on or how i can fix that

Why would sidearm or low slot pitchers use more supination. I’ve had my son throw his sweeper since age 12 (before we heard about the sweeper) he’s 16 now, but when he throws it he pronates at release and it breaks hard both horizontally and with drop. Supinating seems like that could bring injury. What am I missing? If he supinates his arm hurts.
@treadathletics10 ай бұрын
Your son just may be a natural pronator. In that case, it would make sense if he feels pain when supinating. Here are a couple videos we made discussing the topic: kzbin.info/www/bejne/r5XWfHSpaZ6bsM0 kzbin.info/www/bejne/jaqYi5aHqpJkaNU kzbin.info/www/bejne/roXVpJmaiZ2HrMU

This video was great, thank you very much! If you have time, I sent two questions to your Instagram DMs as well as your contact email as they were a bit longer questions. I love talking about all of this kind of stuff, so I’d love to chat and possibly pick your brain for a moment if that’s alright. Have a good one!
