AFAIK the welcome mix-up thing came from the UK, I remember some US folk questioning me using the phrase back on SRK forums in 2012/13 ha

Off topic question, I've heard mention of doom hard kick OS from some commentators in matches I've watched in relation to hit/block. However I cant seem to find info on it; could anyone explain it or point to info that would?

So Doom's hard kick is 6H. You option select throw at the same time naturally. So the 1st layer of the OS is you either throw them, they get hit by hard kick (and you can SJ to convert) or they block hard kick. The OS develops when you OS a cancelled hard kick. So you might do: 6H, 6MH, 9 This dash cancels the hard kick and you immediately jump out of the dash. If you threw them, great. If they blocked you can do eg. Air dash j.M, tridash cr.L, tridash throw, or just straight footdive. If they got hit you can now do: J.M(1) xx ADU j.LMH (land), j.LM, 6H xx ADDF (land) cr.M, 6H etc etc You can practise that confirm by setting down back, random block and dashing up into cr.L, 6H and confirm on hit, pressure on block.

In practice we all know Sparty just mashes A2. I like how you started talking about using a rubber band/hair tie on the analog for your other controller, but you never thought of putting weight on the relevant dpad button. We also all know Sparty is all about those beans. You forgot to mention the numbers on TAC btw...opp can break the TAC too which also resets neutral, but they only have a 1/3 chance of guessing right, assuming you know how to confirm off all 3 directions and are ofc mixing them properly. Throws they only need to guess that you will go for it in the first place. Comparing to resets though depends on what type of reset you're going for, since there's also resets that still leave you at advantage if they block it(ie Vergil RT), instead of resetting neutral. That's a whole diff topic in itself..a good reset will effectively account for all of the opp's options eg tech directions, jumping/airdash, hard tags etc. The main advantage of going for a TAC instead is against chars with an invul reversal eg Lariat, Bionic Arm etc, since they can't use that stuff against a TAC attempt, but they can vs a grounded reset attempt to bypass your mixup AND punish you.

But it's very specific and niche, especially given my exp is through the lense of Wolvy/IF and ultimately I might be better making a vid on fighting Zero in general. That's a lot of work however and I'm honestly not sure I have the *answer*, but just a succession 'try this, you might get lucky!' 😅😂

Enjoying the content though keep it coming but I had an easier time interpreting Das Kapital on my own than this 30 minute dissertation on incoming mixups, and that’s not a knock against you or the video at all, I just didn’t realize what all goes into practicing these, and having very real Dunning-Krueger moment of bitter clarity 🤣
