Such good advice! I know what you mean about corgis wanting to herd at the dog park! We really have to limit our corgi's freedom when near other dogs! He's such a bundle of energy and he's 2 years old. His ultimate obsession is his frisbee....I think he could go for hours catching it!!

I wish Gandalf could play like he did as a puppy but definitely the herding instinct gets him in trouble once in a while nowadays as demonstrated in the video. He is definitely a very confident corgi so I have to manage him closely!

My corgi bully’s the big dogs at the park. I can’t tell if it’s herding or he actually doesn’t like dogs.

That high five oh my goodness! I need to teach my Corgi puppy that!

It’s not a difficult trick! If you can your dog to jump up to tap your hand while you are standing, all you need to do is get in position with your hands out and repeat the same command and your dog might be able to connect the dots pretty quickly.

Thanks for educating people about corgis. I rescued one who was trapped in total neglect of these needs. Now we do long outings and lots of ball playing. Since watching your videos l have a better understanding of his issues in groups of dogs who don’t enjoy being aggressively herded.

Thank you for sharing and also rescuing your corgi. I’m glad these videos have been helpful. Our channel is not big by any means but it encourages me that the videos are making an impact out in the real world.

my corgi is so obsessed getting chased on 😒 I always chase her after doing 30 mins in the house 🤣🤣
@GandalfTheCorgi9 ай бұрын
Yes! I think the most natural thing for them is to chase or be chased. Early on, that’s what fetching sessions would become. Essentially a game of keep away and chase!

I love my Corgi. His name is Cooper (reminds me of the vehicle ). He brings me so much joy. I thank God every day since I first brought him home.

" Though I don't condone this - It was so fulfilling for Gandolf " Gandolf tee-boning big dog-- my favorite part. He just looked so proud and happy. The perfect fun for a perfect Corgi 🙂💖 7:42

That’s the one thing about Gandalf that we have to be vigilant about. His drive to herd and boss around puppies is horrendous. He’s a bully at heart.

You presented the corgis very well. However, I was missing something, a typical character trait: stubbornness. They have very good qualities, but most corgis are so stubborn that they know how to make life difficult for an owner who is not tough enough. I know many such cases, for example a girl who tried to drag her corgi home crying because it refused to go. Of course, there are corgis that are easier to handle. But mine, for example, he is constantly breaking the boundaries. I chose corgi directly because of my active life, but he often makes me angry when he refuse orders 😂
@GandalfTheCorgiАй бұрын
Oh absolutely! I think part of their intelligence allows them to be rather stubborn and even disobedient if the proper communication channels have not been opened up as an owner. Luckily despite being stubborn, most have the temperament of pleasing their owners and with the right motivation, can be incredible companions!
