Thats so true. Sarandipity threatened a large PittBull who could have eaten her ( shes a Doxie ) but it just went belly up and submitted...( She was loose and came to our home- thankfully the Pitty was docile )...

My corgi is the least food motivated dog I’ve ever met. Makes training kinda hard! 😅

Haha. I’ve only met one other corgi that was not food motivated. Very rare!

My first corgi (male) that I got in late October last year will sploot on the tile floor, however, my second female corgi, Zelda, does not sploot at all. Seems she thinks it is unladylike and lie with her hind legs to the side. She’s 8 months old and I haven’t seen her do it once.
@GandalfTheCorgi3 күн бұрын
Haha! She’s a perfect princess. Splooting is just too uncouth! 😂

How do you get a 3 month old puppy to do any of this? Mine will just lay down in the grass and not budge even when I call her with a treat in my hand. She can be stubborn for sure! :)
@GandalfTheCorgi3 күн бұрын
Loose leash walking is a skill that I think takes a few months to a year to train for your puppy. Even then, if there is enough distraction later on, there’s no guarantee that your dog will walk perfectly depending on the environment. I’d say work on the impulse control drills I mention in part 2 of the series so that your puppy learns to look to you for guidance more regularly. Blend in more loose leash walking once you get in better attention. Your puppy should be able to distinguish training time soon enough and pay attention if you have several short sessions (5-10 minutes) each day. You’ll be amazed how focused and attentive they can be once they learn how to learn.

My grandson Rocket is not a big barker fortunately. He is a handful when I'm watching him! He wants to be on the go. He will sit and stare at me with purpose and those judging eyes! Corgi glitter was surprising to me since he's not a huge dog. Rocket is definitely intelligent and knows how to get what he wants 😂 He is pretty good with other dogs and always kicks his paws at dogs 5 times his size. He thinks he's the boss.

This is a spot on description of our first corgi. Our current corgi is all about food, car rides, and treat puzzles. 💗
@GandalfTheCorgi8 күн бұрын
Awesome! Car rides seem ok for Gandalf. He does get a little tense especially when we brake a little harder. He braces with his body weight in the opposite direction to get a better grip. Because of this, he’s never had the ability to relax and enjoy the car with the window open. Nowadays, he has a little seat in between our girls’ car seats.
@kayokolindenberger37548 күн бұрын
@@GandalfTheCorgi Our corgi will scramble inside her crate if we brake a little harder. You hear her nails trying to grip, but she typically will nap or lay and relax during the car ride. Our first corgi loved to watch the scenery go during a car ride.

My Corgi, Bunny, lived in a kennel for 6 years before I got her. I've had her for 6 months and she is beginning to display her personality. She just started to sploot. She is the gentlest dog, easygoing and eager to please. She isn't interested in balls or toys, but I am hoping to change that. She had 2 litters of pups and is spayed. She had never been inside of a house before with her own human family. She is a sweetheart!

My Japanese Chin was same way. He bites me if I try to pet him..I'v had him one yr...His mind is too fixed on fright...😞 So glad you got Bunny 💙
@SharonAnnMenefee10 күн бұрын
@Kristian-sd7up I bought Bunny from a woman who breeds Corgis. It was a Corgi wonder land when I arrived at the kennel to pick up Bunny. All her dogs are AKC registered. ❤

Sounds like she’s finally able to relax since splooting is a resting position for them. If she sleeps with her belly exposed, you know she’s comfortable! Thanks for sharing!

@GandalfTheCorgi She does and wriggles for belly rubs. I bought her a remote control car, and she loves to chase it.
