If you don't want to reload a snap cap every time for your reload drills remove the follower from your mag.
@anonypersona31894 жыл бұрын
I used to do that, but without the follower or bullets your practice reloads will feel very different from the real thing. Get dummy rounds and fill out the mag and you can feel the difference. A full 15 rd mag is what you'll most likely be reloading with anyways (certainly much more realistic than reloading an empty mag without a follower). You'll quickly realize you need much more force to reliably seat the mag into the gun so that the mag catch works on a full magazine. Don't short change your training.

A lot of the major outlets are going to receive their ammuntion orders in September. I just hope prices drop back down. I don't even like going to the range anymore. Ammo is just way to expensive right now.
@misterwaffles184 жыл бұрын
How do you know when they're going to receive the ammo?
@TeachAllNations4 жыл бұрын
That is why I bought a Ruger 10/22. Now when I go to the range only go through 50-100 rounds of 9mm. The rest of the time I enjoy shooting my .22lr.

Most think ammo prices won’t go down til after the election. And if Biden wins, then add few extra months to that.

tackytrooper I shouldn’t have said price, as I was only referring to demand. And yes correct, as we both agree, if he wins, demand will remain higher than ever for a few extra months.

You talk about a lot of things that most people in the industry never discuss. I've incorporated a lot of the things that you talk about, and it's tightened my groups, improved my sight acquisition, and decreased the time between follow up shots

Great video! He talks and moves very fast so it's easy to miss. Before 'playing' with your gun, make darn sure your mags are empty and there isn't a round in the chamber. You may notice he repeatedly is checking both throughout his drills. Check, double check and triple check. Keep ammo and full mags in a separate room until you're done. Don't want people getting shot by 'unloaded' guns.

Update. I am back at this video again for review. Ended up getting a Taurus G3 because it was basically a Glock 19 with a discrete physical safety (don't care about using it, but its just nice to have), a trigger that I like more, and ergonomics that fit my hands better. Did I mention it was like half the price of the Glock? So yea now I am dry fire practicing with this instead between range days each week.

You are a very impressive individual. I love your content. With an empty weapon you know more about the Fundamentals than 90% of the military community and that's the mentality that "what works must be all the training you need. Don't get fancy" attitude is self confidence and ego that will get people killed. You are saving lives for lesser trained individuals who will learn that what you taught dry built the skills that saved their life in the heartbeats between all the steps that happen in the blink of an eye and life depended upon what happens before the primer is hit with a firing pin. When he has the Rifle and steps out his drill he says, "okay got it. Now do it 100 times" but comes out with the surety of tone that it's just as necessary as breathing and just as comfortable. The time on target to firing a lot comes into play. It's discipline and I admire this man's metal fortitude that makes me never wanna meet him in combat, except shoulder to shoulder. Because I know that we are not soldiers, we're artists with a tool. Med Ret weapons Sgt 2nd 75th Regimental JBLM Washington RLTW!

So in Alabama you are allowed to open carry a pistol at 19 with no conceal carry permit. You can also get a conceal carry permit at 19. You may not be able to purchase a pistol or the ammo until you are 21 but someone can legally buy them for you.

My takeaway practice drills: Confirm gun is unloaded and all ammo is out of reach Set up 1" blue tape targets on wall Practice - Mag drop / reload - Good grip - from table, from holster - Good sight alignment - from ready position, from table - Good wall (wall of the trigger, no dry fire) - Good wall with dry fire then finger off trigger Add in drawing from holster - Lifting clothing - Repeat good grip, sight alignment, wall, wall & dry fire from above - Add timers - Add transition between targets - Add movement - Add mag drop / reload from table - Add mag drop / reload from belt Rinse and repeat several thousand times 😀
