@GroundedEarth Oh man, you have no idea, airsoft is not a trend, airsoft has been around for a long time, I myself have known people who have been playing it since 2008, and the community is growing more and more. It is nothing else like paintball, only that different ammunition is used, and it is based a little more on honesty, and that the weapons look much more realistic and, in contrast to paintball, for example the gear from a real unit can be imitated. In principle it is nothing more than a video game in reality. At most of the airsoft events where I go, game modes like capture the flag, king of the hill, team deathmatch or conquest are played, and I myself can say it's fun AF.

Avid airsofter for years here, pretty great video and I'm glad you guys take a real honest and open minded approach to airsoft. Started airsofting with my cousins in their back woods as a young teen, have grown in the sport into milsims and started paying real attention to the major benefits over the older 'gun guys' I see around. You don't train fitness at a flat range, you don't train radio effectiveness, you don't train squad teamwork, there's absolutely no force-on-force training around here, you don't train dealing with unexpected obstacles, terrain hazards, ambushes, etc. Heck, my airsoft guns are kinda haphazardly built so some days I'm even field stripping it while being covered by my friendly units to fix malfunctions. I had the chance to shoot some real handguns while shopping around for a carry piece, and the guy teaching me paused halfway through to point out how great it was that I LISTENED, took corrections quickly and already understood the basics of handling the tool safely. I feel like airsoft is a drastically underappreciated learning platform, that's cheap to get into and can be effective. Thanks for taking the time to make this video!

@mrskippingguyonmush3 жыл бұрын
@@Trve_Kvlt Agreed. I have done UTM training but hesitate to invest in blue guns/blue actions to run it because I can't find bulk UTM ammo for under 50 cents a round for 556 and even a little more for 9mm. This was also affected by the ammo shortage increasing prices almost 20-30 percent on UTM cartridges. It would be the most effective training tool if it were not for the cost. Hours watching tech videos on airsoft rifles to get the best performance, range, and accuracy. Lucas is right, airsoft has a sort of natural progression to real steal. Here in Poland a 6 year old can buy any type airsoft he wants, no permit, not even a parent concent. The same with bow and arrows. However airguns and black powder guns are 18+, but also no permit or registration required. Regular guns are different, because it is a lot of work, time and money to get a permit. The most common being a sports permit, because it allows you to conceal carry, but you cannot own calibers beyond 12mm. Hunting permit is the second most popular, but you have to actually hunt and be in a hunting club. There is however a collector's permit which allows you to buy anything that is not full auto, but it requires you to always transport guns unloaded and only load them at the range.

@@warriorsofftime2782 if its one thing that's painful about Airsoft is the damn prices hot damn. But airsoft BBs are fortunately cheaper and more abundant than ammunition 🤣

Excellent video, thank you. This is a MASSIVE, mostly untapped market, not just in the U.S., but Japan, Europe, etc. My 15 minutes of fame in the airsoft/milsim world is over (being featured in magazines, DVDs, books, etc.), but I do still enjoy seeing this type of footage - gets the juices flowing and brings back many epic memories.

I admit, I was in the camp that looked down on airsoft in the ways you described but you bring up great points. Maybe I actually will look into it.

Literally the worst that can happen is you have a good time. The best that can happen is you enjoy it so much you go to another event. It really is a lot of fun and good training at the same time

@@meme__salad I think the more difficult part would be finding a fire team of like minded individuals. Because my guys are very much so still in that “airsoft is a joke” camp. Hopefully I can change their minds with this video.

Check out the Broken Home milsim event in Oklahoma. It's on a big property like this that uses military vehicles and occasionally helicopters.

I work at an airsoft/paintball field in Canada. I can’t own a real AR-15 but I have a full setup and used your videos to figure out how to set it up to my preference, I train with guys who are military and ex military and we practice everything as if it was a real firearm. I’ve been to the states and done courses and shot real ARs and I excelled my first time out even though I only had an airsoft gun until that. I love that your getting involved in airsoft!

One of the best information videos you done bud, I’m from the UK so real firearms is not allowed, but airsofting gets me closest to this as possible
