Omg I grew up with these! The first one was one of the first big non-picture books I read, around age 6-7, and I read basically all of them in a row, and waited patiently for months after finishing #11 for #12 to come out when I was 9. I had these audiobooks as a kid too, although only the first few because they were expensive and the library didn’t have them, they got me through a lot of long car journeys at ages 8-11, so I’d love to listen to the rest of them now! I’m turning 18 next week, so I’m glad to revisit this part of my childhood before I do.

Sometimes I wish they kept the story the same as the books. I would have love to see Toothless curled up in the bottom of the basket, or the sheer size of Merciless to Hiccup. I would give near anything to see Toothless grow to the size of Furious.

it is kinda funny how different Stoick is in the books. I will say though, every time that Stoick didn't Believe in Hiccup, or didn't listen, and Hiccup is left standing there alone and unheard, yet again, it hurts more than words. Like we were ourselves are being silenced with Hiccup. I wish we could have seen and felt this in the movies.
