The fact that Dean DeBlois, the very same man who gave us the original trilogy is coming back to direct this, gives me hope that this could be the best live action adaptation of an animated film ever.

Hearing that iconic score after seeing Toothless being pet by Hiccup damn near made me shed a tear. I mean I was so nervous about how the dragons would be designed for this movie, but seeing Toothless put all those fears to rest. HE LOOKS SO PERFECT!

I think I’ve gone back and forth on live action remakes and remakes in general and I’m not the biggest fan of animated original, but the glimpse we saw here definitely looks promising and hope it delivers.

I don’t care what anyone else says about this film. I’m still checking it out. I’m glad the same director from the animated film brought back the same composer (John Powell) and the same actor Gerard Butler as Stoick The Vast in this live action film. Still wish that he could’ve brought back Cate Blanchett as Valka, Hiccup’s mother. I would love for America Ferrera and Jay Baruchel (the original voice actors for Astrid and Hiccup) to make cameo in this. Mason Thames and Nico Parker are both perfect casting. Hands down! Some people were upset about the casting of Nico Parker as Astrid, because Astrid’s white with blonde hair. Nico isn’t black, okay? She’s 75% white! She’s mixed. Who cares? At least she’ll kill it! If you people don’t want to watch it, then don’t watch it! It’s not like anyone’s forcing you to watch it! I wonder what else Universal Studios & Dreamworks are gonna do a live-action reboot next? A live-action Monsters Vs Aliens? A live-action Megamind? A live-action Shrek?

Shot for shot accuracy is kind of a cool novelty, but after some thought I'm not sure how I feel about a direct 1 to 1 adaptation/replication. I guess it all depends on the final narrative execution.

Animated movies are often shorter than live action, usually clocking in around 90 minutes. Perhaps they’ll expand on some scenes and add a few others to expand the runtime a bit.

I think the good thing about this compared to 2019’s Lion King is that a lot of main characters are human who will be able to convey emotion. Lion King lost that in the adaptation because the animation was so expressive. I’m intrigued but I’ve been burnt before.

I’m really looking forward to this tbh, I know a lot of people aren’t fans of the idea of live action remakes but I personally don’t really have an issue w them and everything that they’ve shown so far seems to be very faithful and respectful to the animated HTTYD movies

I really fell in love with the original animated series, but Im not a fan of them not changing the design of Toothless, i think they should have done perhaps minor but noticeable changes to his design to separate themselves from the original, this just gives big Lion King vibes and that's not a good thing, that being said i will totally check it out being a big fan of the original.

stoick the vast, is his title, you would be wise to not make the same mistake twice
